[Bug 849672] [NEW] make libvirt trivial to backport to lucid

2011-09-13 Thread agent 8131
Public bug reported:

While libvirt can be backported to natty without changes in order to
backport to maverick or lucid requires some minor changes. It would be
nice, given how often this package has been updated, to make a no change
backport possible, especially for lucid. I have not prepared a debdiff
because in my backports I usually simple disable macvtap support as I do
not need it however for a proper solution macvtap support should be
detected and set in the rules file accordingly. Here are the other
changes, from my notes:

* control build depends - change cdbs version
* control build depends - change python-dev version
* control build depends - add python-support
* control X-Python-Version from 2.7 to current
* rules add DEB_PYTHON_SYSTEM = pysupport
* rules macvtap support (as mentioned above)

[Bug 828789] Re: [FFE] please enable spice support

2011-09-13 Thread Ubuntu QA's Bug Bot
The attachment "qemu-spice-sep12.2011.debdiff" of this bug report has
been identified as being a patch in the form of a debdiff. The ubuntu-
sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can
review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. In the event that this is in
fact not a patch you can resolve this situation by removing the tag
'patch' from the bug report and editing the attachment so that it is not
flagged as a patch. Additionally, if you are member of the ubuntu-

[Bug 831496] [NEW] [FFe] Add cobbler enrollment support to server cd image

2011-09-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
Kate Stewart (kate.stewart) has assigned this bug to you for Oneiric:

One of the work items for
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/server-o-cobbler-next-
steps is to support enrolling a new server with cobbler as a menu
option.

Some work has already been achieved in doing this, but the source
package for cobbler-enrol has not yet entered the archive.

The package is quite simple (containing a smallish C programme), and
provides a deb and udeb for installer integration.

It is expected to be seeded (so MIR required), and a change to the
server iso to add a menu option. This should have no impact on other
flavours.

This is awaiting a feature freeze exception (FFE) for spice-gtk and
for qemu-kvm. If/when that is granted, the feature will be available
in the 'kvm-spice' executable provided by the qemu-kvm-spice package.

[Bug 801501] Re: [MIR] nova

2011-09-13 Thread Kees Cook
This is a step in the right direction (regex arg filtering is better
than filename-glob filtering), but I think this probably needs to have
even more logic built in. For example, running "ip ... $interface ..."
might need logic to have the wrapper look up the interface and decide if
it is actually a nova-controlled interface, etc. Overall, the trajectory
for this design looks fine -- there is a well-defined boundary between
"nova" and "root". Continuing to get it even more highly specified is
the right way to go.

[Bug 795717] Re: 32bit rhel and centos 5.(5|6) hangs on boot on natty

2011-09-13 Thread Herton R. Krzesinski
Verification that this bug is fixed has not been completed by the deadline for
the current
stable kernel release cycle. The change was reverted and this bug is being set
to
incomplete.

In order to have this fix considered for reapplication to the kernel, please
follow the
process documented here:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/StableReleaseCadence

Discussions about the new process tend to take place in #ubuntu-kernel on IRC,
so please
contribute to the discussion there if you would like.

Thank you!

[Bug 848932] [NEW] chef support has static mapping for ruby version -> packages

2011-09-13 Thread Scott Moser
Public bug reported:

there is currently a 'ruby_packages' dictionary that maps the ruby
version (1.8, 1.9, 1.9.1) to a list of packages that would need to be
installed to get a functional gems.

That won't work for future versions of ruby (ie, 1.9.2). and woudl
require updates to cloud-init to support it.
