I had similar problems to on Ubuntu 11.10. I believe it was caused when I made an incomplete trial to switch from Samba to Samba4. [Bug 906654] [NEW] nova should depend on openstackx and load appropriate osapi_extensions by default
Public bug reported: If we wish to support the Horizon dashboard out-of-the-box, it is necessary for nova-api to depend on the openstackx python libary [1] to provide necessary middleware. With the appropriate dependencies installed, we would also need to add configuration flags to nova.conf in order to load these extensions, similar to: --osapi_extension=extensions.admin.Admin --osapi_extension=nova.api.openstack.v2.contrib.standard_extensions These options can be activated outside of packaging via Juju charms, but I predict many people will expect dashboard and the middleware it depends on to be functional out-of-the-box, like other openstack components (especially for one-node installs) Related note: Bug #906649 needs to be resolved in order for any of this to be functional. [1] Or at least until openstackx is deprecated entirely in favor of python-novaclient, I'm not sure when this is due to happen. [Bug 906500] [NEW] lxc-create fails with errors that it is unable to access archive.ubuntu.com
Public bug reported: I encountered this problem when trying to create lxc containers after my first one. The host had full access to archive.ubuntu.com, as verified by Serge Hallyn and Robert Collins via various diagnostics. After trying more careful approaches to a solution, Serge Hallyn recommended that we just wipe out the lxc cache. "rm -rf /var/cache/lxc/*". This solved the problem. I noticed that switching networks seems to trigger the problem. If I create a container at home, and then go to a co-working spot and try to make a new one, I get this error. Then I clear out the cache as Serge described, and I can create a new container. A subsequent attempt, also at the co-working spot, also succeeds. However, when I go back home, and then try to make a container, I get this error again. I clear out the cache, and I can make a new container, and then another one. Maybe the network correlation is coincidental, but it seems to be valid in my experiences so far. This is on an Oneiric host, making Lucid containers. ** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: - I encountered this problem when trying to contain lxc containers after - my first one. My apologies, Serge and Clint. I can confirm that this proposed SRU fixes the problem for me, and I don't see any newly introduced problems. [Bug 905419] Re: cloud-init messages going to syslog, not cloud-init.log
I'm moving this to package rsyslog, I've verified that this is a regression caused by using rsyslog from precise (5.8.6-1ubuntu3). The issue is fixed and demonstrable by: $ url="https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/rsyslog_5.8.1-1ubuntu2_amd64.deb"; $ wget "$url" -O "${url##*/}" $ sudo dpkg -i "${url##*/}" $ sudo cloud-init start After the above, a message from 'cloud-init start' will be in /var/log /cloud-init.log.
