[Bug 924337] Re: lxc on precise is not working with lucid containers
Thanks, Gary. Note that the upstart 'fix' will basically be the same as the suggested workaround. I think the stp on for virbr0 is actually a red herring here, for two reasons. First, you show in the Description that you are using lxcbr0, which should have stp off. Second, in my own experiments, when the console has been slow to come up, the network was actually up and i could ssh in before the console came up. So i think the current 'start on', which is 'stopped rc runlevel=2345]' is jsut bad - that is, there is something running long (maybe udev?) which keeps us getting to *stopped* rc runlevel 2. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/924337 Title: lxc on precise is not working with lucid containers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/924337/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 924337] Re: lxc on precise is not working with lucid containers
I reported on IRC to Serge that virbr0 did indeed have STP enabled, but that I did not see any obvious dnsmasq errors. He already had diagnosed the problem & said as a workaround I could just change the 'start on' in /etc/init/console.conf in my container to 'start on mounted MOUNTPOINT=/run'. stgraber's new upstart will fix it properly when it hits the archive.

[Bug 924375] [NEW] cloud-init should allow pre-seeding of ec2 datasource:Ec2:metadata_urls
Public bug reported: it would be best if cloud-init supported pre-seeding of the ec2 metadata url. This way, something coordinating the installation could cleanly specify through a preseed the location of the metadata url. It might also make sense to be able to pre-seed 'manual_cache_clean'. Then, you could essentially pre-seed cloud-config that looked like: manual_cache_clean: True datasource: Ec2: metadata_urls: [ http://192.168.1.131:80/abcdefg ] where the path was a uuid or something, and on subsequent boots cloud-init would not need that url to be present. Note, though, that 'manual_cache_clean' is less important here, because you could easily have cloud-config or cloud-init data served by the metadata service populate that value in /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg.d. ** Affects: cloud-init (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/924375 Title: cloud-init should allow pre-seeding of ec2 datasource:Ec2:metadata_urls To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/924375/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 924337] [NEW] lxc on precise is not working with lucid containers

[Bug 573919] Re: autofs doesn't work with lucid
The way we're dealing with it at my site is as follows: blacklist autofs4 module # echo "blacklist autofs4" > /etc/modprobe.d/autofs.conf # chmod 644 /etc/modprobe.d/autofs.conf # chown root:root /etc/modprobe.d/autofs.conf load autofs module # echo "autofs" >> /etc/modules # reboot This is forced on all our machines by cfengine just after the kickstart/preseed. YMMV. We don't use NIS or NFSv4 so don't blame me if this breaks anything as I have only tested it on my particular setup. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/573919 Title: autofs doesn't work with lucid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/573919/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
