[Bug 994752] [NEW] lxc-start-ephemeral's use of dhcp lease table is fragile
Public bug reported: When lxc-start-ephemeral is given a command to run (-- do_something) it wants to use lxc-attach to run the command, but lxc-attach is not ready yet. Instead, it parses the dhcp leases to figure out the IP for the container, and then tries to use ssh to run the command. Twice today in tests involving lxc-start-ephemeral, the dhcp leases were unavailable and lxc-start-ephemeral failed. The machine was under fairly heavy load and was virtualized (EC2). I'd like to try and make this less fragile. As discussed on IRC, using lxcip (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~launchpad/lpsetup/trunk/files/head:/lplxcip/) should make this more reliable. [Bug 988394] Re: Reboot hangs because /etc/rc6.d/S40umountfs chokes on non-existent mounts
Steve, I think that you are both right and wrong. You are right that autofs.conf does not work properly and that the autofs-related stuff should be stopped before umountfs script runs. However, there are two other things: 1. The entries in /proc/mounts with 'autofs' FSTYPE *are not file systems that need unmounting*, hence it is both safe and valid to ignore them in the umountfs script. The real file systems that have been mounted by the automounter would show up as separate entries in /proc/mounts with the proper FSTYPE ('ext4', 'nfs' or whatever). 2. The fstab-decode command should not hang on any input. It should be more robust and handle the inconsistencies like this more gracefully. Especially it should not hang when given a mount point at which no file system is mounted, which is the case here. In other words, I think that my patch to the umountfs script is correct in as much as it accounts for the imperfect world in which the automounter was not shut down properly and fstab-decode can be hung. The patch is also completely safe because ignoring the 'autofs' entries from /proc/mounts is completely harmless since they are not mounted file systems. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/988394 Title: Reboot hangs because /etc/rc6.d/S40umountfs chokes on non-existent mounts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs5/+bug/988394/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 917906] Re: Can't determine shared folders
samba works correctly regarding this matter The problem is with nautilus, respectively the handeling of the sharing icons by nautilus. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Changed in: nautilus-share (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/917906 Title: Can't determine shared folders To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus-share/+bug/917906/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 917906] Re: Can't determine shared folders
Quote from bugziall.samba (https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8852#c6) Ok. This is a nautilus problem. The last step printing the error message prints that error to stderr, the valid shares are listed on stdout. Again, I think Samba just behaves correctly. Just tested this. Regarding the disappearing icons: Samba does print out a list of the remaining valid shares. Why nautilus does not display them is up to nautilus. I also tested smbclient -L against the different situations: smbd lists the valid shares even when there are invalid ones. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/917906 Title: Can't determine shared folders To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus-share/+bug/917906/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I don't have anything to test on. I fixed my problem locally, when it broke, as I had a "half-upgraded" main server. As you can imagine, I cannot leave a main server in a half-upgraded state until all of the SRU-backporting red tape can be cut through, so I went ahead and fixed it myself. Perhaps somebody else who is experiencing this bug and is on this ticket was able to leave there system in a half upgraded state. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cyrus-sasl2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990742 Title: slapd fails to upgrade: requires libsasl2-2 (>= 2.1.24) installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cyrus-sasl2/+bug/990742/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
