[Bug 1028470] Re: apache2+ssl hangs on high load
Evgeny, you can use "netstat -tnp |grep curl " to get the other port number of the connection from curl to apache2. With that, you can look for the other end of the connection in "netstat -tnp" output. The last column should give be "123/apache2" where 123 is the pid of the apache2 process. You will have to execute netstat -tnp as root to get the info. The backtrace of the child process you posted looks more like a process that is waiting for a connection. [Bug 353835] Re: Please add 802.1Q/VLAN tagging support to NetworkManager
Thanks to everybody. That helped a lot. Now, is there any chance to get the VLAN connection up as soon as a cable is connected? This works fine for 802-3-ethernet connections, but apparently not for VLAN connections, right? Unfortunately, nm-applet does not even show the connection at all. I hoped, one could at least activate or deactive the VLAN connection with nm-applet. Editing configuration would not have been necessary. [Bug 974584] Re: Semaphores cannot be created in lxc container
** Description changed: [rational] Current initscripts doesn't deal properly with chroots, bind-mounting /run/shm to /dev/shm instead of making the later a symlink to the former. LXC has been carrying a workaround for that, sadly the workaround stopped working late in the 12.04 cycle, meaning that an extra chunk of code had to be added to properly fix any broken container before applying the upgrade as any initscripts update would otherwise fail. [test case] Two things to test: 1) lxc-create -t ubuntu -n p1 - 2) Check that /dev/shm is a chroot to /run/shm in the container + 2) Check that /dev/shm is a symlink to /run/shm in the container 1) Get an existing container 2) Update to -proposed 3) Check that /dev/shm is now a symlink to /run/shm [regression potential] There's a known risk for applications using shm during the upgrade as the entries will be moved to another file system. As long as all the processes accessing the file keep running, it should be fine, but it won't if another one is spawned as it will try reading it from the new location. A warning is displayed recommending a reboot. The rest of the code was already tested with all known scenario and should be sufficiently guarded to only apply to the affected systems. - - >>> from multiprocessing import synchronize >>> synchronize.Lock() Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in File "/usr/lib/python2.6/multiprocessing/synchronize.py", line 117, in __init__ SemLock.__init__(self, SEMAPHORE, 1, 1) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/multiprocessing/synchronize.py", line 49, in __init__ sl = self._semlock = _multiprocessing.SemLock(kind, value, maxvalue) OSError: [Errno 38] Function not implemented Thanks to hallyn, there's a workaround and a fix: adding this line to the container's fstab will fix the problem: none dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0 He is updating the ubuntu template with this change. All 3 also have custom configurations for binding to one nic or the other. eth0 is internal. eth2 is public. ssh - different Listenaddresses/ports based on IP(nic) dhcp - bound to internal interface only xinetd - tftpd is bound to internal interface only Other daemons that don't have a interface-specific config seem to work fine (postfix, apache) or maybe they just don't care. If it helps troubleshooting - I originally had an eth1 instead of eth2 but I swapped it out for a different model (3c905 for a intel e100) and it registered as eth2. eth0 has stayed the same (RTL8168e). I tried setting ssh to run on "started network-manager" but that didn't seem to work. I'll try what Seeger suggests above and do the "net- device-up IFACE=eth2" to see if that helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/719833 Title: ssh upstart job fails to actually bring up ssh To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/719833/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1023550] Re: Postfix missing libresolv in chroot jail
I cannot send you the one we use on the server. However, this one should work: hosts = www.ubuntu.com user = testuser password = testpassword dbname = testdb query = SELECT toAddress FROM mailgw_aliases WHERE fromAddress='%s' If you get the following error then the problem still persists: www.ubuntu.com: Unknown MySQL server host 'www.ubuntu.com' If you get a "connection refused" error (or similar) then you know that the DNS name was resolved correctly and the error happens when the connection is made (which likely fails because www.ubuntu.com probably does not host a public mysql DB). [Bug 1023550] Re: Postfix missing libresolv in chroot jail
I don't use mysql maps, but from a packaging perspective this looks reasonably easy to fix. The tricky part (for me) will be testing it. If you would send me a copy of your /etc/postfix/mysql- virtual_aliases.cf (in private if you prefer and with the database password changed - I don't need DB access, I just need to be able to reach it to test), then I should be able to get this done in time for 12.04.1. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023550 Title: Postfix missing libresolv in chroot jail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/1023550/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1029355] Re: euca-add-keypair could overwrite key files if the key is already added
Hi, I've moved this from cloud-utils to euca2ools, since that is where euca-add-keypair comes from. The thing that makes this really un-fixable is * once the shell opens (via '>'), the local copy of the private key is already lost, which means * in order euca2ools to write it to stdout, it would have to know the private key, that would mean the *server* would have to know the private key. In general, thats a bad idea. While its possible that EC2 or Eucalyptus keep a copy of your private key, you do not really want them to. The best solution to your problem then, is either: a.) use euca-import-keypair, which allows you to import existing keypairs rather than dynamically creating a new one, *and* means the server never sees your private key at all. b.) use a wrapper script around euca-add-keypair You should do this anyway, at very least your pasted command *should* look more like: umask 066 && euca-add-keypair $USERNAME > "$USERNAME.key" or perhaps: euca-describe-keypairs "$USERNAME" || (umask 066 && euca-add-keypair "$USERNAME" > "$USERNAME.key" ) The umask is important to avoid a small period of time where permissions are likely 644. ** Package changed: cloud-utils (Ubuntu) => euca2ools (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: euca2ools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: euca2ools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: euca2ools (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to euca2ools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029355 Title: euca-add-keypair could overwrite key files if the key is already added To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/euca2ools/+bug/1029355/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

If so, would this be configurable let's say with a "instances_path_is_shared" flag? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/904532 Title: Provide a script to automate cleanup of _base To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/904532/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1023025] Re: [SRU] search fail with get_ctrls : controls require LDAPv3
I confirm the version in proposed fix the issue: * before installing proposed version, on fully updated precises : I still reproduce the bug * after installing slapd from proposed : I can't reproduce the bug. Also on this machine, LDAP is used for local authentication, which still work after update (so no regression seen). ** Tags removed: verification-needed ** Tags added: verification-done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023025 Title: [SRU] search fail with get_ctrls : controls require LDAPv3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/1023025/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
