So if the problem is that custom facts don't get to agents by default after installing the puppet package, a solution could be to add "pluginsync=true" to the puppet.conf in the package, but that might be surprising to users, depending on what behavior they expect. [Bug 16669] Re: Squid: Compile with --enable-ssl
GnuTLS has been passed to the upstream bugzilla, so is on the TODO list. However all we are seeing is demands that we do the *enormous* conversion task for free. Nobody supposedly "needing" SSL has been willing to contribute towards development, even as patch submissions to assist. I have finally got around to starting https://code.launchpad.net/~yadi/squid/crypto-ng as a tracker to begin forward progress. however, without support you can expect it to go just as slowly as before. Any assistance is VERY welcome. alternatively there are several proposals to make a special Squid package using OpenSSL available through non-free repositories. [Bug 1078926] [NEW] raring instance failed to find EC2 datasource
Public bug reported: This seems sporadic failure at best. I had seen it on openstack fail similarly. Today I launched 7 instances of us-east-1 t1.micro from each of : ami-be70f5d7 ebs/ubuntu-raring-daily-amd64-server-20121109 ami-de27a2b7 ebs/ubuntu-raring-daily-amd64-server-20121110 ami-f6c94d9f ebs/ubuntu-raring-daily-amd64-server-2012 ami-cc8307a5 ebs/ubuntu-raring-daily-amd64-server-20121112 ami-5c43c735 ebs/ubuntu-raring-daily-amd64-server-20121113 and then another one of 20121109 and 20121113. One of the 2 20121109 failed to boot, and I will attach its console log and cloud-init.log. The log was obtained from stopping the instance, attaching to another system, and getting it. Then I restarted the instance, and it booted fine. Things that were of interest: * from cloud-init's perspective, the thing that failed was finding the ec2 metadata service. * In the failure case, there were no messages to the console log after initramfs, while cloud-init's log shows it WARNing, which should go to console. [Bug 1077434] Re: Apache 2.2.14 Server Status no longer available
Thank you for your response and for carrying out these checks. Just to clarify, I am running Lucid 10.04 and server status had been working fine for years. I saw that Apache had been updated as part of the normal updates and thereafter server status came up with the error. No changes were made by me to the configuration file. If I issued the request https://127.0.0.1/server-status the following error comes up: SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) The fact that I had made no configuration changes and server status was no longer available as well as the https error looked to me to be a bug/problem that had been introduced by the upgrade. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1077434 Title: Apache 2.2.14 Server Status no longer available To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1077434/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
