[Bug 1115053] Re: Multiple open vulnerabilities in tomcat7 in 12.04 and 11.10
Jamie, Thanks for the info. There is a fix for CVE-2012-2733 for tomcat7 from upstream (see http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1350301). Did you see the new debdiff for oneiric in comment #5? All the fixes for the CVEs I am aware of should be in it (as well CVE-2012-2733). Please let me know if the changelog is okay like that and of course if there are any other improvements/changes I should make. As soon as that one is approved I will upload the precise debdiff. [Bug 1124728] Re: openbsd-inetd does not crossbuild
The attachment "openbsd-inetd_0.20091229-2ubuntu2-crossfix.patch" of this bug report has been identified as being a patch in the form of a debdiff. The ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. In the event that this is in fact not a patch you can resolve this situation by removing the tag 'patch' from the bug report and editing the attachment so that it is not flagged as a patch. [Bug 1037055] Re: winbind does not refresh kerberos tickets
I've done some testing on machines with and without the new packages. Conclusion: I think things have improved with the new packages. More details: It is hard to tell for sure as there are various things (eg using sudo, or unlocking the desktop etc) other than winbind that will refresh the Ticket Granting Ticket (TGT) and update/recreate the credentials cache. This can mask the original problem. I managed to shorten the Active Directory ticket lifetimes (1 hour) and renewal periods (1 day) to the minimum to speed up testing. But after this I noticed that tickets were no longer being renewed at all, and expired tickets would stay in the credentials cache breaking authentication. This was worse than the original problem. On a machine without the updates installed, the original problem was still happening even with the shorter ticket lifetimes. ie the credentials cache and Ticket Granting Ticket disappearing before the TGT reached it's renewal time limit. This problem never happened with the updated packages though. Suspecting that the expired ticket problem was caused by the extremely short ticket lifetimes, I extended Active Directory ticket settings to 5hr expiry and 2 day renewal periods. This has slowed down testing a bit, but seems to have made that new expired ticket problem go away. ie tickets are now renewing properly again, and I haven't noticed the cache disappearing before the TGTs renewal period was up. So - things do seem improved with the new packages (provided stupidly short ticket lifetimes aren't in use). The problem I encountered with very short lifetimes is unrelated to this bug report. But without a reliable way to reproduce the original problem, I still can't be 100% certain that absence of evidence (not seeing the bug so far) equates to evidence of absence (the bug has been fixed). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037055 Title: winbind does not refresh kerberos tickets To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/samba/+bug/1037055/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1124649] [NEW] autofs updates should do a ldconfig after restarting autofs
Public bug reported: Since it is possible to have ldconfig paths that are controlled by autofs, and since autofs turns itself off in the "Preparing to replace..." phase of an upgrade, it is possible that other upgrad packages being run in the same upgrade as autofs, may set the ld.so.cache to something that misses the desired libs. [Bug 1124384] Re: cloud-init parses yaml incorrectly
'mounted' events are handled synchronously in mountall, and the 'filesystem' isn't emitted until they're all done. Prelim tests seem to confirm that this is working correctly (and if it wasn't that would be a very bad bug, that I think we would have caught before now). In a test instance from smoser, I've confirmed that a file touched directly by /etc/init/cloud-config.conf persists, whereas a file touched from within /var/lib/cloud/instance/scripts/runcmd is not created. As I'm not really familiar with the cloud-init architecture I can't effectively debug this further, but it's definitely not mountall causing the issue. ** Package changed: mountall (Ubuntu) => cloud-init (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1124384 Title: cloud-init parses yaml incorrectly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/1124384/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Blueprint servercloud-r-qemu] QEMU plans for R
Blueprint changed by Serge Hallyn: Whiteboard changed: User Stories: N/A Risks: None Test Plans: The qrt qemu tests are to be run before every upload. Release Note: 1. The qemu and qemu-kvm sources have been merged. Some of the kvm command line usage therefore has changed. For instance, '-enable-kvm' must be specified rather than being implied. (List of changes to come here) 2. Transparent hugepages are now supported. The performance gains of hugepages in kvm will be automatically realized when available. Notes: The {qemu-kvm,qemu-linaro}->qemu switch does not require MIR'ing the binary packages which migrated from qemu-linaro. We can look at that, but it's low priority unless someone (independently) requires qemu-user etc in main. The work item was in case somehow it was required for this switch. As it is not, I dropped the WI. + + https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029430 shows that vhost_net is not safe + to be automatically loaded everywhere. -- QEMU plans for R https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/servercloud-r-qemu -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

As for CVE-2012-2733, there is no upstream fix that I am aware of, so feel free to skip it (unless you find a patch for it-- if so, please let us know :). ** Also affects: tomcat7 (Ubuntu Oneiric) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: tomcat7 (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: tomcat7 (Ubuntu Raring) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: tomcat7 (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: tomcat7 (Ubuntu Raring) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: tomcat7 (Ubuntu Quantal) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: tomcat7 (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: tomcat7 (Ubuntu Oneiric) Status: New => Triaged ** Summary changed: - Parameter Handling Denial of Service in Oneiric + Multiple open vulnerabilities in tomcat7 in 12.04 and 11.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to tomcat7 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1115053 Title: Multiple open vulnerabilities in tomcat7 in 12.04 and 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tomcat7/+bug/1115053/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

just an update, I uploaded cloud-init with this fix to precise-proposed on 2013-01-31. [Bug 1119248] Re: [SRU] nova does not set container_format when snapshotting instance with ref image deleted
Thanks for your work on this! debian/changelog has a version of 2012.1.4+stable-20121217-9f277e38-0ubuntu2 against precise-proposed, but this version is not in the archive. Your patch should be against 2012.1.3+stable-20120827-4d2a4afe-0ubuntu1.1 (what is currently in precise-security/precise-updates). Otherwise the patch looks fine. Can you adjust this and mention your testing results after patching 2012.1.3+stable-20120827-4d2a4afe- 0ubuntu1.1? [Bug 1123973] Re: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626/mysqlnd.so'
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Once you have responded with this information, please change the bug status back to New. Thanks! ** Changed in: php5 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1123973 Title: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626/mysqlnd.so' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1123973/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1100787] Re: Samba 3.6.3 segfault or panic.
I tried the commands above, first using the proxy's domain name, then with it's IP address but I still get the same error. "ERROR: connecting to Launchpad failed: [Errno 110] Connection timed out" Running "env | grep proxy" shows the proxy is set correctly. Looking at the other proxy's logs, it doesn't even look like it's trying to use the proxy. Back to the actual crash bug... I decided to install the debug symbols for libtdb and it looks like the signal handler gets called in "__memmove_sse2". Stack trace is posted below. I also managed to get Winbind running under Valgrind but it didn't crash for the 2 days that I had it running. I'll attach the valgrind log to this post anyway in ccase there's any useful info in it. I've also setup another proxy server on the same ESXi host using Ubuntu 12.10. Settings are more or less identical to the 12.04 proxy, only thing that's different are the package versions. So far it hasn't had any problems at all. libtdb-dbg stack trace: [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1". 0x7f4a2c6b443e in __libc_waitpid (pid=, stat_loc=0x7fff25d00030, options=0) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/waitpid.c:32 #0 0x7f4a2c6b443e in __libc_waitpid (pid=, stat_loc=0x7fff25d00030, options=0) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/waitpid.c:32 #1 0x7f4a2c63a29e in do_system (line=0x7f4a311f5110 "/usr/share/samba/panic-action 12134") at ../sysdeps/posix/system.c:149 #2 0x7f4a2f1b546c in smb_panic (why=) at lib/util.c:1123 #3 0x7f4a2f1a6708 in fault_report (sig=7) at lib/fault.c:53 #4 sig_fault (sig=7) at lib/fault.c:76 #5 #6 __memmove_sse2 (dest=0x7fff25d0062c, src=, len=) at ../string/memmove.c:82 #7 0x7f4a2cde0042 in tdb_read (tdb=0x7f4a311d0480, off=1339388, buf=0x7fff25d0062c, len=4, cv=0) at /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/bits/string3.h:52 #8 0x7f4a2cde1bc4 in transaction_read (tdb=0x7f4a311d0480, off=1339388, buf=0x7fff25d0062c, len=4, cv=0) at ../common/transaction.c:176 #9 0x7f4a2cddf664 in tdb_free (tdb=0x7f4a311d0480, offset=1339392, rec=0x7fff25d00650) at ../common/freelist.c:148 #10 0x7f4a2cde03db in tdb_expand (tdb=0x7f4a311d0480, size=335872) at ../common/io.c:360 #11 0x7f4a2cddf9d9 in tdb_allocate (tdb=0x7f4a311d0480, length=104, rec=0x7fff25d00740) at ../common/freelist.c:358 #12 0x7f4a2cddca5c in _tdb_store (tdb=0x7f4a311d0480, key=..., dbuf=..., flag=0, hash=610244803) at ../common/tdb.c:561 #13 0x7f4a2cddcd07 in tdb_store (tdb=0x7f4a311d0480, key=..., dbuf=..., flag=) at ../common/tdb.c:618 #14 0x7f4a2f1c35ba in stabilize_fn (tdb=, key=..., val=..., priv=0x7fff25d009b0) at lib/gencache.c:561 #15 0x7f4a2cddd7bc in tdb_traverse_internal (tdb=0x7f4a311d0780, fn=0x7f4a2f1c3480 , private_data=0x7fff25d009b0, tl=0x7fff25d00930) at ../common/traverse.c:190 #16 0x7f4a2cddd9d6 in tdb_traverse (tdb=0x7f4a311d0780, fn=0x7f4a2f1c3480 , private_data=0x7fff25d009b0) at ../common/traverse.c:260 #17 0x7f4a2f1c382c in gencache_stabilize () at lib/gencache.c:494 #18 gencache_stabilize () at lib/gencache.c:457 #19 0x7f4a2f1c3d12 in gencache_set_data_blob (keystr=, blob=, timeout=1361184829) at lib/gencache.c:202 #20 0x7f4a2f1c3ee3 in gencache_set (keystr=0x7fff25d00bc0 "IDMAP/SID2GID /S-1-5-21-1152652908-1908898795-1555891258-10921", value=0x7fff25d00cc0 "20921", timeout=1361184829) at lib/gencache.c:641 #21 0x7f4a2f1e2437 in idmap_cache_set_sid2gid (sid=0x7f4a31203ed0, gid=20921) at lib/idmap_cache.c:247 #22 0x7f4a2f4a0af9 in idmap_sid_to_gid (domname=, sid=0x7f4a31203ed0, gid=0x7fff25d00e5c) at winbindd/idmap_util.c:290 #23 0x7f4a2f1092b7 in _wbint_Sid2Gid (p=, r=0x7f4a3122fd90) at winbindd/winbindd_dual_srv.c:130 #24 0x7f4a2f115454 in api_wbint_Sid2Gid (p=0x7fff25d00eb0) at librpc/gen_ndr/srv_wbint.c:476 #25 0x7f4a2f108f6c in winbindd_dual_ndrcmd (domain=, state=0x7fff25d01020) at winbindd/winbindd_dual_ndr.c:322 #26 0x7f4a2f107cb4 in child_process_request (state=0x7fff25d01020, child=) at winbindd/winbindd_dual.c:440 #27 fork_domain_child (child=0x7f4a2f981680) at winbindd/winbindd_dual.c:1554 #28 0x7f4a2f108765 in wb_child_request_trigger (req=0x7f4a31231bb0, private_data=) at winbindd/winbindd_dual.c:145 #29 0x7f4a2f1c6d32 in tevent_common_loop_immediate (ev=0x7f4a311c2c70) at ../lib/tevent/tevent_immediate.c:135 #30 0x7f4a2f1c4e28 in run_events_poll (ev=0x7f4a311c2c70, pollrtn=0, pfds=0x0, num_pfds=0) at lib/events.c:198 #31 0x7f4a2f1c5246 in s3_event_loop_once (ev=0x7f4a311c2c70, location=) at lib/events.c:331 #32 0x7f4a2f1c5e50 in _tevent_loop_once (ev=0x7f4a311c2c70, location=0x7f4a2f525f01 "winbindd/winbindd.c:1439") at ../lib/tevent/tevent.c:494 #33 0x7f4a2f0dea3b in main (argc=, argv=, envp=) at winbindd/winbindd.c:1439 A debugging session is active. ** Attachment added: "Valgrind log file" https://bugs.lau
