[Bug 967410] Re: Windows clients cannot connect to shared printers
Any news on the release of this fix for precise? I'm preparing to set up servers for windows networks, and I need to know what workaround I have to use. 3.6.6 as originally released is not going to go on these servers. I've made Ubuntu my distro of choice, but this was reported almost a YEAR ago, and Precise is supposed to be a LTS. It really makes one think about CentOS. [Bug 1037055] Re: winbind does not refresh kerberos tickets
After further testing, I'm certain the updated packages have fixed the bug. Leaving two machines running logged in and idle over the weekend, the unpatched machine lost its credential cache (again) while the patched one succesfully renewed its TGT all weekend. And it also successfully got a new one after the renewal limit was reached. Thanks. It would be great if these updates could make their way into precise and quantal. I gather raring already has them from upstream. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037055 Title: winbind does not refresh kerberos tickets To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/samba/+bug/1037055/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1128174] [NEW] smbd refusing connections after reboot
Public bug reported: SAMBA refuses connections after each system restart. I use my desktop as, well, a desktop. I like to connect to my local machines to share and backup files and such. I have several different devices running a mix of Linux and Windows. So, I shutdown each night since there is no reason to have my machine running constantly as it is not serving anything and updates can be done anytime. Anyway, SAMBA was always refusing connections. I tried and tried for months to fix it permanently, rather than having to need to resort to manually restarting the service each time I needed to access my network. This current install on this system is from November of 2012. So, after lots and lots of searching... I come across this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/771305/comments/17 It fixed my issue. SAMBA is now accepting connections after a restart and it does it automatically now. My real question here is: Why as this been allowed to persist for nearly 2 full years now? I've seen lots and lots of forum posts (with no working solutions) about this issue and no one could figure it out. Not even me (mind you, I'm no expert)... until I found the above linked post here on launchpad. In any case, this needs to be addressed. smbd not waiting until the system is up and functioning before it checks for network devices is just frustrating. Sorry about this long-winded, old news post. I just think this should be fixed sooner, rather than later. ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1128174 Title: smbd refusing connections after reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1128174/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
