[Bug 1153077] Re: rabbitmq queue fills up and celery stops executing tasks when upload_dhcp_leases is done every minute (by default)

2013-05-23 Thread Raphaël Badin

celeryd listener is connected/registered. I saw it once myself (but only
once).

Did the tasks start piling up right from the start or did the system
work for a while, then stopped working with the tasks piling up?

[Bug 1153077] Re: rabbitmq queue fills up and celery stops executing tasks when upload_dhcp_leases is done every minute (by default)

2013-05-23 Thread Raphaël Badin
Adding a TTL to the celery queues will avoid the out of memory error.
But if we want to fix the core problem we need to understand why the
tasks are pilling up without being processed by the workers.

2013-05-23 Thread Raphaël Badin
If someone can recreate this problem, it would be good to see in the
celery logs (/var/log/maas/*celery*.log) if there isn't an indication of
what's wrong with the workers.

[Bug 1183634] [NEW] cheetah pkg does not depend on markdown, but egg requires.txt does

2013-05-23 Thread Adam Gandelman
Public bug reported:

cheetah 2.4.4-3ubuntu1 dropped dependency on python-markdown to avoid a
component mismatch (markdown is in universe). Apparently the package
functions fine without it, however, cheetah's requires.txt still lists
it as a dependency:

$ cat Cheetah.egg-info/requires.txt
Markdown >= 2.0.1

This causes any package that depends on cheetah and uses pkg_resources
to manage its dependencies to fail. Caught with nova:

At a glance, it looks like facter is not available in the load path of

[Bug 1183508] [NEW] A command to scale-down a service safely.

2013-05-23 Thread David Fischer
Public bug reported:

My question is the following (maybe a feature request, I do no how to
create one) :

Imagine a service like GlusterFS requiring to migrate data from removed
bricks before shuting-down the node(s) that will be removed from the
cluster.

gluster/0 with volume1
gluster/1 with volume2 (replica=2)
gluster/2 with volume2 (replica=2)

How exactly juju triggers the hooks of the units of that service ?
I imagine that all units are aware of the departure of gluster/2 if we remove
gluster/2.

A good feature will be to have, as user, a way to express our desire to
scale-down the service without specifying one particular unit, unlike
juju remove-unit.

Another will be, as unit of the service, a way to "decide" to cancel or
warn the user helped by juju. For example, if the user uses juju remove-
unit gluster/0 it will loose all data of volume1 !

Kind Regards,

David

[Bug 1183429] [NEW] Hang on login after booting armhf container

2013-05-23 Thread Rune K. Svendsen
Public bug reported:

I create an armhf container using the following command:

sudo lxc-create -n armhf01 -t ubuntu — -a armhf -r precise

I then start it like so:

sudo lxc-start -n armhf01

It boots up, shows a lot of

 main process terminated with status

messages on the console (which I've read are fine)

and I arrive at the login prompt, where I try to log in with the default
ubuntu/ubuntu login. After entering this information, the following
information is output to the terminal:

Last login: Thu May 23 15:24:20 UTC 2013 on lxc/console
Welcome to Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS (GNU/Linux 2.6.32 armv7l)

 * Documentation:  https://help.ubuntu.com/

and it just sits there, with a blinking cursor.

The machine is running, I can see with lxc-ls:

NAME STATEIPV4IPV6 AUTOSTART
-
armhf01 RUNNING 10.0.3.211 - NO

although it doesn't seem to have gotten a LAN IP.

If I try to login via ssh, it also hangs, but this is aborted after a
while with a "broken pipe" message:

The authenticity of host '10.0.3.211 (10.0.3.211)' can't be established.
ECDSA key fingerprint is 36:bd:9d:98:a3:d6:2a:fc:9f:f2:33:a8:00:46:17:9e.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes
Warning: Permanently added '10.0.3.211' (ECDSA) to the list of known hosts.
ubuntu@10.0.3.211's password:
Write failed: Broken pipe

I'm attaching the debug output file created by starting the container
like so:

sudo lxc-start -n armhf01 -l debug -o output

sorry, no I meant that it's failing to get logs the content from stderr

[Bug 1183338] Re: Crypt Blowfish only returns salt

2013-05-23 Thread n0xie
My question is then, why does this behaviour only show itself on Ubuntu
(debian?) based systems? None of the other OS'es I have tried seem to
have this issue. In fact it seems they fill the 'missing' salt with '$'.

[Bug 1183338] Re: Crypt Blowfish only returns salt

2013-05-23 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

I have reproduced the behaviour you describe on 5.4.9-4ubuntu2.

According to the documentation, the salt provided for Blowfish must be:

22 characters from the alphabet "./0-9A-Za-z"

See: http://php.net/manual/en/function.crypt.php

Changing your test case to:

echo crypt('1369300336testtest','$2a$07$1234567890123456789012$');

generates the output:

1$2a$07$123456789012345678901uZYllnydIbsLxOEuXdlYwl811OX1hihq

Thus I believe that PHP is working as specified, so this bug is Invalid.
You need to specify a valid salt. If you disagree, please explain and
change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 479836] Re: euca2ools: requires EC2 certificate from ec2-ami-tools in multiverse

2013-05-23 Thread Scott Moser
Some notes...
 * I just forwarded this to debian
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=709475)
 * this is now the only ubuntu delta
 * the last remnants of the default '--ec2cert' path of
/usr/share/euca2tools/cert-ec2.pem were removed with upstream commit
aa1b331513c4c73a3075f1512086ee67ad2af0bc [1], which was usefully annotated "A
bunch more of the refactoring completed. ".
 * As it stands right now, I think users either have to set EUCALYPTUS_CERT to
/usr/share/euca2ools/cert-ec2.pem or use --ec2cert flag.

[Bug 930962] Re: dhcp3-server reports many bad udp checksums to syslog using virtio NIC

2013-05-23 Thread Stéphane Graber
Recent kernel changes are now causing this issue to appear in LXC containers
too where the libvirt mangle rule doesn't help at all.
As a result I'm now preparing SRUs for both lucid and precise so that all
supported Ubuntu versions know to deal with missing checksums.

[Bug 1183354] [NEW] lxc-clone makes unbootable clone when using lvm backing store

syslog are clean, until I start a container. Then I can read in kern.log things

I also tried to modify a container config following the suggested way :
lxc.cap.drop = sys_module mac_admin syslog

The container does not start. That is the reason why I wrote here.

Best regards,

Al

[Bug 1183300] Re: [needs-packaging] keepalived

2013-05-23 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

keepalived is already packaged, but I can see that upstream version
1.2.7 is available. Ubuntu and Debian have 1.2.2; 1.2.6 is available in
experimental.

Please specify which upstream release you are requesting, and consider
filing a bug with Debian to have Debian update to the latest upstream
version.

[Bug 1183300] [NEW] [needs-packaging] keepalived

2013-05-23 Thread Takuma Watanabe
Public bug reported:

keepalived provides simple and robust facilities for loadbalancing and
high-availability to Linux system and Linux based infrastructures.

URL: http://www.keepalived.org/
License: GNU General Public License
Notes:
The newest version contains new functions and very important bug fixes.
e.g. )
New function: Add SNMP support to checker and VRRP frameworks.
Fixed bug: When the real servers have the same port number for loadbalancing,
changing settings of the real server is not reflected in actual loadbalancing.

[Bug 1067779] Re: missing pam_loginuid.so breaks getlogin()

2013-05-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package openssh - 1:6.2p2-3

---
openssh (1:6.2p2-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * If the running init daemon is Upstart, then, on the first upgrade to
this version, check whether sysvinit is still managing sshd; if so,
manually stop it so that it can be restarted under upstart. We do this
near the end of the postinst, so it shouldn't result in any appreciable
extra window where sshd is not running during upgrade.
