[Bug 1209020] Bug 1209020
Good Day Serge Hallyn Thank You for the reply You may have inadvertently solved this bug. Your questions: ls -l /etc/udev/rules.d total 16 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1450 Jul 23 09:23 56-hpmud.rules lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 37 Mar 24 14:36 62-nut-usbups.rules -> /lib/udev/rules.d/62-nut-usbups.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 794 Aug 3 15:52 70-persistent-cd.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 670 Mar 23 19:53 70-persistent-net.rules -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1157 Apr 5 2012 README cat /var/log/upstart/nut.log cat: /var/log/upstart/nut.log: No such file or directory cat /var/log/upstart/udev.log cat: /var/log/upstart/udev.log: No such file or directory My /var/log/udev.txt file in tar is almost 300kb. Do you really want it? Now my solution. Your text says that nut ships a 52 file and not a 62 file but I definitely have a reference to a 62 file because everything I did on the bug report was cut and pasted. The above rules.d 62 file links as shown to /lib/udev/rules.d/62-nut-usbups.rules. You wrote nut ships with a 52 file. It was logical to marry these two files up. I changed the link properties in /etc/udev/rules.d62-nut-usbups.rules from 62 to 52 but leaving the filename the same. No more error message in boot.log! The 62 file is mentioned prominently in CENTOS and Red Hat. Maybe, someone somewhere should have include a 52 file instead of a 62 file. I don't know but my dirty fix works! [Bug 1185160] Re: no way to see what user has a node allocated
We can return owner no problem, and the attached branch fixes that. However, conditionally returning sensitive details is made difficult by Piston which assumes you always return the same set of fields. We can work around it but it's quite a nasty hack so I'm leaving it out until there's a concrete requirement to get power details on the api response. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1185160 Title: no way to see what user has a node allocated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1185160/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1197896] Re: [MIR] ruby-safe-yaml, ruby-hashie, ruby-indentation
I reviewed ruby-safe-yaml version 0.9.3-1 from saucy. This should not be considered a full security audit, but rather a quick gauge of code cleanliness. - ruby-safe-yaml provides callbacks used by the syck and psych YAML-parsing engines to convert a tokenized yaml stream into Ruby objects without blindly executing code in the objects, as previous YAML parsers have done. - build-depends on gem2deb, rake, ruby-rspec, ruby-hashie, ruby-indentation - Does not do encryption - Does not itself do networking - Does not daemonize - No init scripts, no dbus services, no setuid, no binaries, no sudo, no cron jobs - Nice test suite run during build - No processes spawned - No file writing; file reading is simple and duck-typed - No environment variables used - No privileged operations - No cryptography - No networking itself - No temp files - No WebKit or JS Some code is a little obfuscated in the effort to provide identical API interface to callers in Ruby 1.8 and Ruby 1.9 environments, when the underlying YAML parser frameworks are different. Most of the code is straight-forward and careful parsing code. The test suite is comprehensive and includes positive and negative tests. Security team ACK for including in main. Thanks for reporting this bug. It actually sounds to me like you have a transient network error. Thanks for reporting this bug. I"m a bit confused for several reasons: 1. the bug is reported by udev itself, not nut 2. nut ships a file 52-nut-usbups.rules not 62-nut-usbups.rules 3. udev does not maintain a list of files it should load at startup. Rather it loads any files which do exist under rules.d. Therefore I can't think of anything that would make udev try to load this file (and then fail to find it) Can you please show the contents of /etc/udev/rules.d ('ls -l /etc/udev/rules.d)? [Bug 1037723] Re: [SRU] move walinuxagent init functionality to cloud-init
** Description changed: [PACKAGES] cloud-init and walinuxagent [Bundled SRU]: This SRU is 'bundled' for both cloud-init and walinuxagent. In order for either WALinuxAgent or Cloud-init to provide the new functionality, both have to land in the archive around the same time, with cloud-init landing _before_ WALinuxAgent. For this reason, this SRU covers both cloud-init and WALinuxAgent [Impact]: On Windows Azure for 12.04, boot time provisioning is handled by WALinuxAgent. However, WALinuxAgent is incapable of handling user- data, which is a Juju requirement. Further, while WALinuxAgent is capable of providing boot time provisioning, it configures the system in a non-Debian way, which makes Azure images inconsitent with other Clouds. In order to provide a consistent and reliable cloud experience, Cloud-init with Azure support is needed. [Impact: Cloud-init]: This change introduces code for the Windows Azure datasource. [Impact: WALinuxAgent]: The default configuration for WALinuxAgent is now set to disable boot time provisioning, and only functions as a fabric checkin. By moving provisioning functions from WALinuxAgent to Cloud-init, cloud images are now portable between EC2, OpenStack and Windows Azure. This also reduces the support burden by using cloud-init to provision Windows Azure cloud images. [Regression: Cloud-init]: The regression potential is low, as this is an - introduction of new functionality. The addition of the Windows Azure - datasource will not affect other datasources. + introduction of new functionality. The new functionality is provided via + a new datasource, which is currently not configured for cloud images; + only when the new functionality is enabled, will the datasource run. The + addition of the Windows Azure datasource will not affect other + datasources. [Regression: WALinuxAgent]: By default, WALinuxAgent now requires cloud- init. The default configuration is now set to ignore boot-time provisioning. On systems that have WALinuxAgent installed, the current configuration is used. This means that WALinuxAgent will continue to work as before, unless the user takes specific action to enable cloud- init. Description of the problem : [ORIGINAL REPORT] As much as possible, I would like to move the initialization code that walinux agent does into cloud-init. cloud-init could detect the fact that it is on azure (or be configured to look there). The thing we need here is user-data support in cloud-init in one way or another. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to walinuxagent in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037723 Title: [SRU] move walinuxagent init functionality to cloud-init To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/1037723/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1162999] Re: stream_get_line() incorrectly blocks
I don't think SRU policy is a problem here. Find us the obviously safe patch, and I believe it'll meet SRU policy. I don't recall this specific bug and will need to review this again, but I did say: "These results do not appear to be consistent with the actual and expected test case results in the upstream bug. Could you help with this, please? Am I interpreting this wrong? Is the bug fixed in the development version? Can you provide an updated test case, expected results and actual results that work with the released Ubuntu packages?" This is the reason for the hold up, not SRU policy. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1162999 Title: stream_get_line() incorrectly blocks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/php/+bug/1162999/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1162999] Re: stream_get_line() incorrectly blocks
Surely you guys can make an exception to your policy under the "Bugs which do not fit under above categories, but (1) have an obviously safe patch and (2) affect an application rather than critical infrastructure packages (like X.org or the kernel). " rule ?? Its a very frustrating bug and asking people to go PPA just to get around this one bug seems completely non-sensical.
