2013-09-03 Thread James Page
** Description changed:

Please update openvswitch in precise and quantal to the 1.4.6 release
under the provisional MRE granted by the technical board.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ For the update for 12.04, upstream re-jigged the PKI directory to reside
under /var/lib/openvswitch. The packaging accommodates this change (and a few
other picks from the upstream packaging). I've tested upgrade on 12.04 and
12.10 and everything is moved correctly on upgrade and passes the DEP-8 tests
from raring
+ pre and post upgrade.

[Bug 1220273] [NEW] spaces in comment break cloud-init disabling of root ssh

2013-09-03 Thread Scott Moser
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Private security bug reported:

Under bug 833499 we changed cloud-init to disable keypairs inserted by nova
into /root/.ssh/authorized_keys.
It seems that that disabling is broken if the comment portion of an ssh
authorized key entry has a space in it. This is fixed in 13.04 and 13.10, but
present in 12.04 and 12.10.

Normally, the comment portion of a keyname.pub entry would not have
spaces in it, but those generated by the horizon UI and by 'nova
keypair-add' do.

Reproducing the bug is easy enough:

 $ ssh-keygen -N '' -C 'My Comment Has Spaces' -f /tmp/testkey -t rsa
 $ cat /tmp/testkey.pub
 ssh-rsa
B3NzaC1yc2EDAQABAAABAQC0nX6k7RdiFnK4OJOFNQuPIx/eLehnvO9DwrT7Hw9qTKxBPUChHZKkikATaD3DqNgGFgcQd1BxcY2NDwaop3tKLS36d1PGVfAyXjIhA1hnc1fkMP4dxn9u066CC/RQv2esNUTA+ItW2+9RbQNFRxMCxNRTyXlyWDzIToFjekXz3S9outDwQWcRV+4X0IbP0iSl1pD+7dxhHveaEVHA/QWOkY1yiOz+5Xqn75+LomqplF9tkQP5zvjnoKyGnDh9anaYxMQXOkpPpRaS4R2FuX6+uXo1o+MFze/Z1xqTVBOEqbutt4HmHS5rTa0lZNiTDt+JtKzo4RcAL4v+0RutIp+t

   - switch to python script to allow validation of the addresses against
the public address families we have on our interfaces (uses the same
algorithm used in apt to avoid something wierd errors)

 use address form itself

[Blueprint servercloud-s-openstack-charms] OpenStack Charm work for Saucy/Havana

2013-09-03 Thread Adam Gandelman
Blueprint changed by Adam Gandelman:

Whiteboard changed:
  User stories:

John is maintaining some openstack juju charms. When he wants to push a
change affecting multiple charms, he does not want to duplicate his work
  across bash and shell.

Mike wants to ensure deploying specific configuration of OpenStack is
  supported and tested.

Bob from Bob's Super Storage Systems Inc wants to easily deploy his
cinder plugin alongside our Juju charms without making changes to the
  cinder charm itself.

  Risks:

- Charm changes break backward comparability with existing upstream
- charms.
+ Charm changes break backward comparability with existing upstream charms.
+ Network configuration being added to charms may conflict with future work in
MAAS/Juju wrt network abstraction.
+

  Test Plan:

Implement some automated integration testing on all charm changes, as
  specified in WIs.

  Release Notes:

  N/A

[Bug 1220314] Re: lxc-start fails when there is a space in lxc.mount.entry

2013-09-03 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for reporting this issue.

The lxc.mount.entries are in fstab format, and parsed using the same
function as /etc/fstab. Spaces in pathnames can therefore be escaped
using \040 (as indicated in the fstab(5) manpage).

** Changed in: lxc (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Invalid
