[Bug 1210253] Re: With Havana 2 installed, Launching horizon UI results in the error " NameError: name 'Dashboard' is not defined"
I'm not sure if this is too late but I was getting the same error everytime that I started an instance of the horizon layer. I discovered that I was using the version 1.6 of Django and it has some classes deprecated(https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/internals/deprecation/), specially django.conf.urls.defaults. [Bug 1235231] Re: plymouth loses output to /dev/console (such as ci-info: messages)
I think the cloud-init *binary package* should add these .override files as conffiles. While the issue of messages going missing may affect systems other than cloud images, it's precisely the cloud images where a) plymouth adds no value, and b) the impact of messages going missing from the console is highest. And dpkg-divert is not the right tool for this. The .override files should be created in the postinst, and removed in postrm (when called with $1 == remove || $1 == purge); but this should absolutely not involve dpkg-divert. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1235231 Title: plymouth loses output to /dev/console (such as ci-info: messages) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/1235231/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1235231] Re: plymouth loses output to /dev/console (such as ci-info: messages)
Steve, Do you think this can be fixed in plymouth correctly? If not, and you still would recommend .override files which of the following solutions would you think is best (or another you suggest): A.) 'disabler' package built by 'plymouth' source package (sugg name: plymouth-disabler) B.) 'disabler' package built by 'cloud-init' source package (sugg name: cloud-init-plymouth-disabler) Then, which mechanism for disabling would you think is the best solution: 1.) cloud-init installation of .override files via dpkg-divert in postinstall script 2.) cloud-init-plymouth-disabler package built by cloud-init Personally, it seems to me that 'A' is better than 'B', but I completely defer to your judgement on 1 or 2.
