Whichever module is creating the threads is likely to blame. Because
that's the module which should be managing locking.

The fix was initially developed for 1.17 and backported to 1.16. So

[Bug 1282820] [NEW] YPBIND_MAXWAIT not respected

2014-02-20 Thread Noorez
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 13.10

Here is my situation:

My work laptop uses a NIS configuration. While directly connected
directly to the work network, NIS is able to bind to the server without
issue (unless of course the server is down...).

However, while away from work, I cannot directly connect to NIS. My
laptop takes forever to boot up (if I switch to tty2 I can stop the
autofs and ypbind service). ypbind will only work when I attach my
laptop to the VPN making those NIS servers accessible.

Problem:

After some googling, I tried setting YPBIND_MAXWAIT in /etc/environment
but this did not appear to take effect. Commands still continue to hang.

[Bug 1282730] [NEW] Suspend takes very long, more than 20mins

2014-02-20 Thread Rohan Dhruva
Public bug reported:

This could be a linux kernel or a pm-utils bug. However, from the last
few updates, at least from Linux ubuntu 3.13.0-8-generic, suspend is
taking a very long time. It takes over 20mins. The "suspend" indicator
keeps blinking.

First few times, I decided to power off the system thinking it's some
other failure. However, yesterday I noticed that the system actually
does suspend: it just takes a lot time (20+ minutes). It didn't take
more than 2-3 minutes in the past.

I have changed my pm settings to do a hybrid sleep when "sleep" is
selected. I will post the config file soon.

[Bug 1024765] Re: ipa-client-install fails at certutil stage because /etc/pki doesn't exist

2014-02-20 Thread Stephan Adig
@Timo: This fix in trusty is good, but doesn't help.
The ipa-client after 12.04 LTS are not compatible anymore with the working IPA
server from RHEL.
This client can't talk to an older IPA master serverso 12.04 LTS is still
stucked.

RH doesn't plan to update IPA Server to a new version.

Re: [Bug 1282655] [NEW] qcow2 images are not backwards compatiable with 12.04's qcow2

2014-02-20 Thread Serge Hallyn
I cannot reproduce this - a compat=0.10 image which I create on 14.04

Are you sure you copied the right image from your 14.04

Re: [Bug 1282655] [NEW] qcow2 images are not backwards compatiable with 12.04's qcow2

2014-02-20 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for reporting this bug.

I took the upstream git tree. Built it at today's git HEAD with

./configure --target-list=x86_64-softmmu --disable-fdt --disable-docs
--disable-guest-agent

and did

./qemu-img create -o compat=0.10 -f qcow2 /home/serge/test.img
1G

Then checked out v1.0 (updated the Makefile and Makefile.target to add -lrt)
and rebuilt. Did

sudo ./qemu-nbd -c /dev/nbd0 /home/serge/test.img

But it worked fine. Likewise when I used trusty's qemu-img to create
the tarball it worked fine. So this appears to be something in our
precise patchset? Still looking

Does adding --no_locales, i.e.

lxc-create -n juju-bootstrap -t ubuntu-cloud -- -r precise --no_locales

work around the issue for you?

Could you show a full process tree at the time that lxc-create is hung?
