Unless there was a temporary DNS glitch, this doesn't seem to be the case. The server can look up its own name happily and sudo doesn't show any unexpected output for me. Since it happened on more than one server at roughly the same time, while I can't find any evidence in the logs to support it, an external event (network glitch, busy firewall, etc.) is possible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1287666 Title: qemu-nbd processes left behind after instance deletion To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nova/+bug/1287666/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1288841] Re: l3-agent (dis)associate floatingip only after restart
Hi, i was able to solve our problem. The neutron-plugin-vpn-agent inherits from the l3-agent !? Maybe this service also cosumes messages from the l3-agent-queues. l3_agent 1 true l3_agent 1 true l3_agent.netnode1 2 true l3_agent.netnode12 true l3_agent_fanout_439789853af24283bdb0bab8e5d11a42 3 true l3_agent_fanout_648459462b1c4b158f9cbd01e27452b0 3 true I stopped the vpn-service and the (dis)association works as expected. Later i start the service and the problem did not recurred. Now we have to look if the vpn-service works ;) Thanks so far. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to neutron in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1288841 Title: l3-agent (dis)associate floatingip only after restart To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/neutron/+bug/1288841/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1289318] [NEW] Samba dumps core if you try to export keytab in trusty
Public bug reported: If you set samba up as an AD controller in trust and then run this command: sudo samba-tool domain exportkeytab /etc/krb5.keytab -U Administrator Nothing seems to happen and the keytab is not exported. Run 'sudo su' and then run the command again, you get: Illegal instruction (core dumped) Unlike most of your bug reports, I actually know the cure, firstly the cause, On debian it was found that parts of samba were being built against the wrong libs, this was discovered in version 4.1.3, a patch was developed. How to cure the problem, very easy, move to debian version 4.1.4 or 4.1.5 I know that you may say that it is a bit late now to upgrade a package, but think about it, do you really want to ship an LTS version with a badly broken major package, if it is a very easy fix??? lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch) Release:14.04 apt-cache policy samba samba: Installed: 2:4.1.3+dfsg-2ubuntu3 Candidate: 2:4.1.3+dfsg-2ubuntu3 Version table: *** 2:4.1.3+dfsg-2ubuntu3 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289318 Title: Samba dumps core if you try to export keytab in trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1289318/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1288823] Re: Trusty bind9 RRL
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This sounds like a reasonable request, but I have a few reservations: 1) Why is this configuration option not default upstream? Does this mean that they don't consider it ready for general default production use, and if this is the case, why should Ubuntu's position be different? 2) Debian doesn't carry this flag. Is it worth Ubuntu diverging from Debian here, or will Debian also be willing to carry this change? I'll ping a Debian bind9 maintainer on IRC after I post this and ask the question, but it would also make sense to file a bug in Debian if you want to do that; I don't see this configure option in Debian's source either. 3) Any security implications that I've not thought of? I'll ping an Ubuntu security team member on IRC after I post this. 4) We're past feature freeze for Trusty. Is this change worthy of an exception? ** Changed in: bind9 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: bind9 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1288823 Title: Trusty bind9 RRL To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/1288823/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Thanks Serge. Much appreciated! I'll test it later tonight or early tomorrow. By the way, the patch that you mentioned is from Igor Mammedov, who is at RedHat. [Bug 1288823] Re: Trusty bind9 RRL
Following discussion on IRC: > 1) Why is this configuration option not default upstream? For their stable release policy. This doesn't apply to a new Ubuntu release. > 2) Debian doesn't carry this flag. It will. > 3) Any security implications that I've not thought of? Marc has acked the configuration switch, but not enabling rate limiting in the default config, which I think is fine and is what is being asked for here. > 4) We're past feature freeze for Trusty. LaMont says that we've carried a patch for this feature before, so if support is gone, this is actually a regression. Thus I think it's a bugfix, not a feature, and so the freeze doesn't apply. [Bug 1280941] Re: metadata agent throwing AttributeError: 'HTTPClient' object has no attribute 'auth_tenant_id' with latest release
Hello Robert, or anyone else affected, Accepted python-neutronclient into saucy-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /python-neutronclient/1:2.3.0-0ubuntu1.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .
