[Bug 1274702] Re: Hyper-V KVP infrastructure not working properly in 14.04 Trusty

2014-03-16 Thread Robert C Jennings
Confirmed that this is correct with Ubuntu_DAILY_BUILD-trusty-14_04-LTS-
amd64-server-20140316-en-us-30GB

At boot the two expected daemons are running:
# ps -ef|egrep "hv.*daemon"
root 1163 1 0 05:43 ?00:00:00
/usr/lib/linux-tools/3.13.0-17-generic/hv_vss_daemon
root 1242 1 0 05:43 ?00:00:00
/usr/lib/linux-tools/3.13.0-17-generic/hv_kvp_daemon

[Bug 1268072] Re: byobu color prompt doesn't work correctly

2014-03-16 Thread Dustin Kirkland 
Adding the Ubuntu package to this bug, since your screenshots and info
here clearly show you're running Ubuntu.

I still haven't managed to reproduce this problem.

I suspect that there might be something funny in your ~/.profile or
~/.bashrc? Could you back those up, and then install the stock ones
from Ubuntu? Just copy over /etc/profile and /etc/bash.bashrc over
those files, and start byobu fresh.

This should not be a problem any more as the TFTP server should listen on all
interfaces in the next release.

I am pretty sure there's something wrong with some folks' networking setups
but I'm not sure what it is.

The timeouts on the TFTP server are very generous, it uses a backoff algorithm
and ends up as a few seconds. This should be more than enough for a local
network!

As a data point. I have seen this locally once when I mixed different types of
switches together (100MB and Gigabit) and went away as soon as I moved back to
a single speed network.

  Hi,
in Windows closing the lid makes it going to sleep and opening the lid makes
it resuming.

I am using Ubuntu 13.10 on my Samsung Series 7 Chronos 700Z3A-S02DE. When I
close the lid the laptop suspends, but on lid open it does not resume until I
press the power button. With acpi_listen I see that it fires and recognizes the
events for lid close and open and /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/state shows the
correct state for each lid position. With acpid -d -f -l
I see that those events trigger /etc/acpi/events/. I wrote an event that
matches lid close/open and calls pm-suspend. But this does not make the laptop
resume.
I also uncommented the lines in /etc/systemd/logind.conf regarding hibernate
and suspend. But this does not work either.

So my problem is that the system receivs and understand those ACPI
events triggered from the lid actions. But LID0 is not configured as
/etc/acpi/wakeup device. Nor echoing it into the file does make it
appearing there. So I am at the end of my knowledge and understanding of
  the ACPI event handling.

I've already tried to pass different acpi_osi Strings with grub but the
ACPI table does not change nor make it any difference for the
  suspend/resume problem.

If I can give any further information please just ask me to. Thank you.

[Bug 1293108] [NEW] Setting up iscsitarget-dkms fails with error: ‘struct ipv6_pinfo’ has no member named ‘daddr’

(64-bit Lubuntu nighlty build of 2014-03-14 with updates)
(this machine is set up with RAID-1, LVM and Encryption, in
 case that matters.)

and am trying to set up an iSCSI target (and client).

2 years ago, I successfully did this on PrecisePangolin following these
instructions:
http://www.howtoforge.com/using-iscsi-on-ubuntu-10.04-initiator-and-target

Today, on TrustyTahr, I can't get past the installing of the
iscsitarget-dkms package.

I'm getting a simple(?) compile error.

iscsitarget-dkms package is at version 1.4.20.3+svn496-1ubuntu1

(is there an alternative iSCSI target package that Ubuntu uses/blesses?)

[Bug 1263699] Re: vmhgfs loaded after filesystems are mounted

2014-03-16 Thread Maarten Boekhold
No update on this? I can't imagine that I'm the only person affected by
this... If I *am* the only person affected then I must have done
something really stupid and I'd really like to know what!
