[Bug 1330266] [NEW] Sync liblinear 1.8+dfsg-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2014-06-15 Thread Jackson Doak
Public bug reported:

Please sync liblinear 1.8+dfsg-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * debian/control:
-  Use dh_python2 instead of python-support
- Add X-Python-Version
- Drop libsvm-tools from Recommends to Suggests, as the tools are only
mentioned in man pages.
  * debian/pyversions:
- Drop, unused with dh_python2
Fixed in debian

Changelog entries since current utopic version 1.8+dfsg-1ubuntu1:

liblinear (1.8+dfsg-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/control:
- Demoted liblinear1's Recommends for liblinear-tools to Suggests, so
  packages depending only on the library don't pull in the tools.
  Closes: #682062
- Demoted liblinear-tools' Recommends for libsvm-tools to Suggests, for the
  same reasons. Closes: #679992
- Bumped Standards-Version to 3.9.5 (no changes needed)
- Bumped debhelper compatibility version to recommended level 9
- Dropped dependency on python-support, and added a dependency on
  python-all-dev (>= 2.6.6-3~) for dh_python2, as well as added
  X-Python-Version >= 2.5. Closes: #679993
- Updated BLAS dependency to libblas-dev | libblas.so, the currently
  recommended approach.
  * debian/compat:
- Raised debhelper compatibility level to recommended level 9
  * debian/rules:
- Converted to dh_python2
- Fixed get-orig-rules target in debian/rules. The generated tarball did
  not match the git version
- Use DEB_CFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND, as recommended, instead of CFLAGS
  * debian/copyright:
- Updated to machine-readable copyright format 1.0
  * debian/gbp.conf
- Created (package is based on dfsg branch, not upstream)
  * debian/patches (new):
 - 0006-Improve-option-parsing
   Use optarg, avoid atoi, verify argument count. Closes: #716115
  * debian/patches (modified):
- 0001-Properly-build-shared-and-static-libraries-programs
  Include CPPFLAGS to avoid hardening flag warnings
  * debian/source/lintian-overrides:
- Added override for debian-watch-may-check-gpg-signature
  * debian/*.lintian-overrides:
- Added overrides for no-upstream-changelog

[Bug 1296681] Re: failed to change apparmor profile to lxc-container-default

2014-06-15 Thread Matt Rae
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1296459 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1296459

I seem to be seeing this issue as well. I'm not sure if its the
duplicate issue.

The profile config file name is "lxc-default-with-mounting" yet the
actual profile name appears to be changed to "lxc-container-default-
with-mounting" causing confusion.

/etc/apparmor.d/lxc/lxc-default-with-mounting

Inside that file the profile name is "lxc-container-default-with-
mounting". I presume that at some point the profile naming convention
was changed from "lxc-default" to "lxc-container-default" but the file
name didn't get changed to match the convention.

This is confusing because if I configure the apparmor profile in the lxc
config based on the config filename I'll get an error:

lxc.aa_profile = lxc-default-with-mounting

error:

lxc-start: No such file or directory - failed to change apparmor profile
to lxc-default-with-mounting

using the actual profile name from inside the file "lxc.aa_profile =
lxc-container-default-with-mounting" solves the problem.

I think a solution to the multiple names confusion would be to rename:
/etc/apparmor.d/lxc/lxc-default-with-mounting
to
/etc/apparmor.d/lxc/lxc-container-default-with-mounting

[Bug 1330220] [NEW] Winbind upstart script uses incorrect path to winbindd_privileged

2014-06-15 Thread Arran Cudbard-bell
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Release:14.04

winbind:
  Installed: 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.1
  Candidate: 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.1
  Version table:
 *** 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.1 0
500 http://be.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64
Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2 0
500 http://be.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages

Upstart script seems to think winbindd_privileged lives in
/var/run/samba, but it in fact lives in /var/lib/samba by default.

This may have changed in an upstream samba release.

Error in upstart script masks issue by creating winbindd_privileged
directory in the wrong place, and then fails to correct the permissions
on the actual winbindd_privileged directory, so users that are members
of winbindd_priv can't access the socket.

/etc/init/samba:
pre-start script
test -x /usr/sbin/winbindd || exit 0
mkdir -p /var/run/samba/winbindd_privileged
chgrp winbindd_priv /var/run/samba/winbindd_privileged
chmod 0750 /var/run/samba/winbindd_privileged
end script

should be changed to

pre-start script
test -x /usr/sbin/winbindd || exit 0
mkdir -p /var/lib/samba/winbindd_privileged
chgrp winbindd_priv /var/lib/samba/winbindd_privileged
chmod 0750 /var/lib/samba/winbindd_privileged
end script

Official documentation states
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/manpages-3/smb.conf.5.html:
winbindd privileged socket directory (G)

This setting controls the location of the winbind daemon's privileged
socket.

Default: winbindd privileged socket directory =
$prefix/lib/winbindd_privileged

Default is definitely /var/lib.

Package's smb.conf does not set winbindd privileged socket directory nor
has it ever AFAIK.
