[Bug 1338781] Re: lxc download template needs access to hkp://pool.sks-keyservers.net
The required external connection is so that if we revoke the key, gpg will refuse to validate the indices and container images, therefore letting us immediately prevent any of our user from running malicious code in the event our key is compromised. However something seems odd in your setup because I took great care to make sure all of this does work through an http proxy and it's indeed what we do on all our CI servers (no outside access, everything goes through a squid proxy) where fetching the key works perfectly fine. [Bug 1338781] [NEW] lxc download template needs access to hkp://pool.sks-keyservers.net
Public bug reported: I'm using a cloud instance with configured http_proxy and https_proxy. Other than that, generally "internet" access is not available. I run: lxc-create -t download --list and I see: $ sudo lxc-create -t download -n foo -- --list Setting up the GPG keyring and I see: gpg --keyserver hkp://pool.sks-keyservers.net --recv-keys 0xBAEFF88C22F6E216 that seems un-necessary. I've securely downloaded and installed this package (and many others). I should have been delivered that key also. For all practical purposes, you've given me the key (as you gave me its hash), and now I'm dependent on an external (generally not highly available) network resource to get the payload. [Bug 1337437] Re: maas needs utopic support
python-distro-info doesn't know about MAAS. For example, it reports that Lucid is supported... but it's not by MAAS. [Bug 1337437] Re: maas needs utopic support
Been looking into removing the enum from UbuntuOS. If we pull this information from simplestreams, then we would need to use the daily channel, because its the only channel that contains Utopic. get_supported_releases needs to return all available release, not just the ones boot images are present. Also the simplestreams data does not provide a nice title for the release, it only uses the codename. We would also need to use python- distro-info to get the fullname of the release to present to the user on the WebUI. What is the benefit of pulling the data from simplestreams for the available releases, when python-distro-info already contains all of the data we need on the system? Just want to make sure I implement it correctly. Also if we go with the simplestreams approach, we would need to cache the data, as we should be making a web request everytime MAAS ask for the available releases for the operating system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1337437 Title: maas needs utopic support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1337437/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1329302] Re: juju-core 1.18.4 MRE tracker
** Description changed: + [SRU Notes] + + This SRU includes three changes: + + 1) Upstream version bump from 1.18.1 to 1.18.4: provisional MRE approved + by the Technical Board: + https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/MicroReleaseExceptions + + 2) Packaging change for bug 1325025 (distro-info dependency) has SRU + information in that bug. + + 3) New and enhanced dep8 tests copied from Utopic packaging. + + No other changes. This happens to make the source package identical to + juju-core in Utopic, differing only in debian/changelog. + + Pre-upload testing: TBC + + SRU verification will include further testing, including juju-quickstart + testing as stipulated in the MRE. + + juju-quickstart is also being unbroken by both this SRU and a separate + juju-quickstart (non-MRE) SRU in bug 1306537, bug 1311321 and bug + 1309678. Both SRUs need to be in trusty-proposed together to effectively + test juju-quickstart. However, as juju-quickstart is completely broken + in Trusty currently, and requires both this SRU and the juju-quickstart + SRU to land to fix, there is no need for one SRU to block the other. + + [Description] + 1.18.4 contains essential fixes that need to land in Trusty.
