[Bug 997978] Re: KVM images lose connectivity with bridged network

2014-08-06 Thread Øyvind Jelstad
My problem with missing arp replies was solved( worked around) by setting
bridge_ageing 0
for the bridge in /etc/network/interfaces, making it a hub forwarding all
packets to all hosts.

[Bug 1349433] Re: AppArmor breaks seccomp @ Apache mpm-itk

2014-08-06 Thread Andrew Lewis
Note that the 'Operation not permitted' error in the original
demonstration is desired behaviour- when this does /not/ happen the
seccomp filter is not working as intended. It's not clear to me what
problem you're see'ing but it /could/ be an affect of the seccomp filter
in mpm-itk (governed by the LimitUIDRange setting) if for instance
mailman is trying to run Exim which is setuid root.

If so, then there's nothing more to do at this end, right? Just demote

[Bug 1353473] [NEW] Trusty Pacemaker crm node standby stops resource successfully, but lrmd still monitors it and causes Failed actions

2014-08-06 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
Public bug reported:

It was brought to me (~inaddy) the following situation:

* Environment

* Issue
I used crm node standby and the resource(haproxy) was stopped successfully.
But lrmd still monitors it and causes Failed actions.

I wasn't able to reproduce this error so far but the fix seems a
straightforward cherry-picking from upstream patch set fix:

c72bfea664bd04656c306409381cef824679ea06
[PATCH 1/3] Fix: services: Do not allow duplicate recurring op entries.

7a02cd7745d56009ac65251c77d0fe052008224f
[PATCH 2/3] High: lrmd: Merge duplicate recurring monitor operations.

[PATCH 3/3] Fix: lrmd: Cancel recurring operations before stop action is
executed

So I'm assuming (and testing right now) this will fix the issue...
Opening the public bug for the fix I'll provide after tests, and to ask
others to test the fix also.

[Bug 1353473] Re: Trusty Pacemaker crm node standby stops resource successfully, but lrmd still monitors it and causes Failed actions

2014-08-06 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
Created one public PPA so the SRU proposal can be tested before asking
for sponsorship:

https://launchpad.net/~inaddy/+archive/ubuntu/lp1353473

# apt-add-repository ppa:inaddy/lp1353473
# apt-get update
# apt-get dist-upgrade

* attention: this will replace current trusty pacemaker version:
pacemaker_1.1.10+git20130802-1ubuntu2

* to version:
pacemaker_1.1.10+git20130802-1ubuntu3

* because versioning is already ready for the SRU proposal.
* to get back to current trusty version you will have to remove
* the pacemaker by hand and install it again (maybe ignoring
* dependencies if you don't want to reinstall hole clustering
* packages).

After upgrading to version: pacemaker_1.1.10+git20130802-1ubuntu3

Anyone who is suffering for this issue can try to
# crm node standby node
again and check if ldmd stops monitoring resources on nodes put to standby.

Tks

Yes, this fix now breaks our setup. Our users have access to an
external network but to give them admin would be a huge policy
violation. This really should have been changed to use the policy.json
to limit access or open it up.

[Bug 1353792] [NEW] Detect renamed files and handle by renaming instead of delete/re-send

2014-08-06 Thread Javier P.L.
Public bug reported:

There has been a report in rsync[0] about this issue since 2005, some
patches has been developed detect-renamed[1] and detect-renamed-lax[2]
to target the issue, I think it would be great if Ubuntu could patch
itself rsync to provide such feature.

I've updated those[3] patches[4] to apply to the latest rsync package
(3.1.1) and they're working great in my own setup, I also put them in a
ppa[5] for further testing. The patches aren't intrusive, they provide
some extra flags (--detect-renamed, --detec-moved and --detect-renamed-
lax) so I think it shouldn't be disastrous for those who won't use the
extra features.

[Bug 1353734] Re: Permission denied when creating semaphore in ubuntu-cloud container

2014-08-06 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for submitting this bug. The problem is due to /run/shm not
existing in the cloud images.

The ubuntu-cloud image fixes the /dev/shm by doing:

if [ ! -L $rootfs/dev/shm ] [ -d $rootfs/run/shm ] [ -e
$rootfs/dev/shm ]; then
mv $rootfs/dev/shm $rootfs/dev/shm.bak
ln -s /run/shm $rootfs/dev/shm
fi

The second test fails because $rootfs/run/shm does not exist.

Since /run/shm will be created at runtime, I see no reason not to drop the
second part
of the test. I'll suggest that to the list - there may be reasons I'm not
considering.
