--- Comment From rsche...@us.ibm.com 2014-08-07 17:26 EDT--- (In reply to comment #25) This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. From a terminal window please run: apport-collect 1342000 and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'. If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'. This error occurs during O/S installation. I chose the menu option to start a shell, but the apport-collect command does not exist in the installation miniroot environment. I found a menu option to save the installation log files and will attach those files to this bug instead. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1342000 Title: UBUNTU14.10-LE:liz:Ubuntu installation failing on virtio-scsi disk with disk image type raw To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1342000/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1354114] Re: multipath segmentation Fault (libmultipath: update waiter handling)
So probably to last commits touching libmultipath/waiter.c (and fixing this issue) would be: 1) commit e1fcc5933ac44683cdee1a02304e1115abec3ff5 Author: Benjamin Marzinski bmarz...@redhat.com Date: Sat May 19 01:37:03 2012 -0500 multipath: clean up code for stopping the waiter threads The way multipathd currently stops the waiter threads needs some work. Right now they are stopped by being sent the SIGUSR1 signal. However their cleanup code assumes that they are being cancelled, just like all the other threads are. There's no reason for them to be so unnecessarily complicated and different from the other threads This patch does a couple of things. First, it removes the mutex from the event_thread. This wasn't doing anything. It was designed to protect the wp-mapname variable, which the waiter threads were checking to see if they should quit. However, the mutex was only ever being used by the thread itself, and it clearly didn't need to serialize with itself. Also, the function to clear the mapname, signal_waiter(), was set with pthread_cleanup_push(), which never got called early, since the threads weren't being cancelled. Thus, the mapname never got cleared until the pthreads were about to shut down. The patch also rips out all the signal stopping code, and just uses pthread_cancel. There already are cancellation points in the waiter thread code. Between the cancellation points, both explicit and implicit, and the fact that the waiter threads will never be killed except when the killer is holding the vecs lock, there shouldn't be any place where the waiter thread can access freed data. To make sure the waiter thread cleans itself up properly, the dmt has been moved into the event_thread structure, and is destroyed in free_waiter() if necessary. [Bug 1354193] [NEW] Variables in /etc/default/tomcat7 overridden in /etc/init.d/tomcat7
Public bug reported: Many variables defined in /etc/default/tomcat7 are overridden in /etc/init.d/tomcat7. In short, they cannot be set in /etc/default/tomcat7. These are: TOMCAT7_USER, TOMCAT7_GROUP, TOMCAT7_SECURITY, JVM_TMP, and JAVA_HOME. If empty, JVM_TMP was set to /etc/tomcat7-$NAME-tmp. With NAME=tomcat7, this was redundant and I fixed it to match what is documented in /etc/default/tomcat7. In the (temporary) logic to set JAVA_HOME, there was an error in enumerating the java-7-openjdk's. The error caused the enumerated list to only be the last directory discovered. I fixed the error to match the logic for the java-6-openjdk's. Lastly, the auto-generate message for the policies is hardcoded. I added logic to list both the logical path and, if different, the physical path to the policy.d directory. ** Affects: tomcat7 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Patch added: tomcat7.diff https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1354193/+attachment/4172311/+files/tomcat7.diff ** Description changed: - Many variables defined in /etc/default/tomcat7 are overridden + Many variables defined in /etc/default/tomcat7 are overridden in /etc/init.d/tomcat7. [Bug 1352617] Re: php5-fpm UNIX sockets in Precise do not listen as www-data:www-data by default, and causes 502s with webservers trying to use socket
I'm attaching the patch I wrote for this. As this patch is ultimately going to repair a problem introduced by a security fix, by forcing php5-fpm to force a specific user/group to be the owner:group settings for the fpm socket, I would like the Security Team to review the change preliminarily, while I work on getting a debdiff made. This is solely because it changes how the php5-fpm package has its /etc/php5/fpm/pool.d/www.conf file is generated, changing the default lines slightly. I'd like to make sure this doesn't break anything else or introduce any other issues. ** Patch added: fix-fpm-socket-owner-group.patch https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1352617/+attachment/4172342/+files/fix-fpm-socket-owner-group.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1352617 Title: php5-fpm UNIX sockets in Precise do not listen as www-data:www-data by default, and causes 502s with webservers trying to use socket To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1352617/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
