[Bug 1291321] Re: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty

2014-08-28 Thread Raphi
I installed the patched package from the ppa on our upgraded
(12.04-14.04) system - however the live-migration is still not working
as expected.

The kvm process is just dying without any message/logs as soon as the
migrate command is started on the source node. We're using googles
ganeti to manage our cluster. The KVM instance is started with the
-machine pc-1.0 option. Is there anything which needs to be adjusted
manually in order to bring the live-migration feature to work?

[Bug 1362481] [NEW] openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix

2014-08-28 Thread Peder Stray
Public bug reported:

Upgrading from Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS to 14.04.1 LTS
(slapd-2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4.4 to slapd-2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8), it fails
horribly on my setup with one disk-backend and one ldap-backend (sync to
another server).

First, dump_databases in
/var/lib/dpkg/info/slapd.{config,preinst,postinst} fails due to
get_directory returning olcDbDirectory instead of /var/lib/ldap. This
is caused by a missing -h to grep, causing another : in the returned
line, thus causing the '| cut -d: -f 2' to get the wrong part of the
line. This causes both the backup of the suffix to fail, and later the
chown after restore to fail.

grep olcDbDirectory: `grep -l olcSuffix: ...

should have been

grep -h olcDbDirectory: `grep -l olcSuffix: ...

later, get_suffix causes the same suffix to be reported twice, thus
causing database load to fail on the second round of the while since
/var/lib/ldap is already loaded with the correct files, but is expected
to be empty. I fixed it with a '| sort -u' in get_suffix, but i guess it
would be better to maybe redo load_databases' while loop to get both
suffix and dbdir (since you can have the same suffix stored in more than
one location, as I have, and thus first getting the suffix and then
doing a grep for the olcDbDirectory in get_directory will cause the same
storage to be reported for both instances of the suffix)

2014-08-28 Thread Ryan Tandy
Thanks for the report. At a glance, this appears like a more detailed
duplicate of your comment on bug 322944; is that right, or is it a
separate bug? Either way, if it's possible for you to provide a copy of
your configuration that fails (with sensitive details/passwords
removed), or steps to construct such a configuration, that would be
really helpful. Thanks!

[Bug 1362481] Re: openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix

2014-08-28 Thread Peder Stray
Yes, they are definitly related, but not caused by the exact same
configuration. But still, the fixes i oulined may fix that bug too.

I can't provide our exact configuration, but I followed the guide at
http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/replication.html#Syncrepl%20Proxy to
set up replication to another ldap. This causes the suffix to appear in
both of

/etc/ldap/slap.d/cn=config/olcDatabase={1}hdb.ldif
/etc/ldap/slap.d/cn=config/olcDatabase={2}ldap.ldif

Only the first of them has olcDbDirectory in it.

[Bug 1271144] Re: br0 not brought up by cloud-init script with MAAS provider

2014-08-28 Thread danieru
Hi,

I'm seeing this problem in juju-core/1.20.5.

During 'juju bootstrap' it finally fails with:

ERROR bootstrap failed: waited for 10m0s without being able to connect:
ssh: connect to host 192.168.122.105 port 22: No route to host

And on the guest console it complains that br0 not brought up because it
doesn't exist.

My environment:

I'm using the juju packages from the juju ppa. The exact package is
'1.20.5-0ubuntu1~12.04.1~juju1'

The MAAS server is on trusty, with the default MAAS packages from the
trusty repo. I'm running MAAS and it's nodes in KVM for testing
purposes.

It looks like this bug is marked as fixed for juju-core/1.20. Is it
possible to re-open it?

2014-08-28 Thread Louis Bouchard
For info, SRU for LP: #1328556 in near completion and the fix for it
should become available in 7 days.

$ sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install irqbalance should install
a new fixed version.

After this, the solution for this bug will be to add the following in
/etc/default/irqbalance :

OPTIONS=--hintpolicy=ignore

and restart the irqbalance damon

ceph@bfceph03:~$ sudo service irqbalance restart
irqbalance stop/waiting
irqbalance start/running, process 25104

I will update this bug once the fix becomes public.

[Bug 1066942] Re: cps_ plugin autodetection is broken

2014-08-28 Thread Chris J Arges
This is fixed in the trusty and utopic versions already. Therefore this patch
needs to go through the SRU process as defined here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

The patch looks pretty good, all that's needed to do is fill out the SRU
template; and someone can sponsor that into precise.

Thanks!

[Bug 1312507] Re: rabbitmq-server fails to start on a IPv6-Only environment/epmd is not IPv6 enabled

2014-08-28 Thread Thiago Martins
For some reason, one of controllers (small isolated region that I have
for tests in lab), it still doesn't work... I'll investigate it more.

Version 1:16.b.3-dfsg-1ubuntu2.1:

---
root@controller-1:~# dpkg -l | grep erlang-base
ii erlang-base 1:16.b.3-dfsg-1ubuntu2.1 amd64
Erlang/OTP virtual machine and base applications

root@controller-1:~# service rabbitmq-server restart
 * Restarting message broker rabbitmq-server
   ...fail!
---

Then, I removed the IPv6 nameservers entries out from
/etc/resolv.conf...:

---
root@controller-1:~# service rabbitmq-server restart
 * Restarting message broker rabbitmq-server
   ...done.
---

It seems that there are still something wrong with it...

I'll post it here if I can figure it out.

Best,
Thiago

Public bug reported:

Go 1.3.1 was released on 2014 Aug 3. This is a major release ahead of
the package currently available for trusty and other versions of Ubuntu.
Logs for the major release 1.3 are https://golang.org/doc/go1.3 and logs
for the 1.3.1 release are https://code.google.com/p/go/source/list?name
=release-branch.go1.3r=40272ab1339ab2fb9e7160483e5e5d42d6b7e810 for
your edification.

The reason I am requesting this update is because Go 1.2.1 has a bug
that is fixed in Go 1.3.1 and this bug affects one of my projects.

Thank you for your continued support!

Jack.

[Bug 1362481] Re: openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix

2014-08-28 Thread Ryan Tandy
Great. Thanks for that link, and also for the analysis and suggestions.
You're right: there is an implicit assumption that suffixes are unique,
and this setup is a valid one that breaks it.

With this change:

http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-
openldap/openldap.git/commit/debian/slapd.scripts-
common?id=57b0cc5ae377b00219e73be87e0c3a151b5eda99

the dump part at least doesn't fail (slapcat -b dc=example,dc=com is
executed twice, operating on the disk-backed db both times), but I
wouldn't exactly call that correct.

Of course, running slapadd -b dc=example,dc=com twice is never going
to work. (Well, maybe if the database is totally empty.) (Additionally,
moving the old database out of the way doesn't work if we have {1}ldap
and {2}hdb instead of the reverse.)

I already wanted to redo the loops like you suggested; this is just
another reason to move forward on that. Probably it would be most robust
to use slap{cat, add} -nN instead of -b $suffix; at least that would have
the least chance for ambiguity.

[Bug 1362790] [NEW] samba reports panic action

2014-08-28 Thread Barry Skrypnyk
Public bug reported:

When one of the laptops on our network tries to attach to the Samba
share it creates these panic action results.

The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action, was
called for PID 32536 (/usr/sbin/smbd).

This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault.
Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows the state
of the program at the time the error occurred. The Samba log files may contain
additional information about the problem.

If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the samba-dbg
package, which contains the debugging symbols for the Samba binaries. Then
submit the provided information as a bug report to Ubuntu by visiting this link:

hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag

[Bug 1362856] [NEW] JuJu does not appear to support --constraints arch=arm64
