[Bug 1291321] Re: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty
I installed the patched package from the ppa on our upgraded (12.04-14.04) system - however the live-migration is still not working as expected. The kvm process is just dying without any message/logs as soon as the migrate command is started on the source node. We're using googles ganeti to manage our cluster. The KVM instance is started with the -machine pc-1.0 option. Is there anything which needs to be adjusted manually in order to bring the live-migration feature to work? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1291321 Title: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1291321/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1362481] [NEW] openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix
Public bug reported: Upgrading from Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS to 14.04.1 LTS (slapd-2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4.4 to slapd-2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8), it fails horribly on my setup with one disk-backend and one ldap-backend (sync to another server). First, dump_databases in /var/lib/dpkg/info/slapd.{config,preinst,postinst} fails due to get_directory returning olcDbDirectory instead of /var/lib/ldap. This is caused by a missing -h to grep, causing another : in the returned line, thus causing the '| cut -d: -f 2' to get the wrong part of the line. This causes both the backup of the suffix to fail, and later the chown after restore to fail. grep olcDbDirectory: `grep -l olcSuffix: ... should have been grep -h olcDbDirectory: `grep -l olcSuffix: ... later, get_suffix causes the same suffix to be reported twice, thus causing database load to fail on the second round of the while since /var/lib/ldap is already loaded with the correct files, but is expected to be empty. I fixed it with a '| sort -u' in get_suffix, but i guess it would be better to maybe redo load_databases' while loop to get both suffix and dbdir (since you can have the same suffix stored in more than one location, as I have, and thus first getting the suffix and then doing a grep for the olcDbDirectory in get_directory will cause the same storage to be reported for both instances of the suffix) ** Affects: openldap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1362481 Title: openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/1362481/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Thanks for the report. At a glance, this appears like a more detailed duplicate of your comment on bug 322944; is that right, or is it a separate bug? Either way, if it's possible for you to provide a copy of your configuration that fails (with sensitive details/passwords removed), or steps to construct such a configuration, that would be really helpful. [Bug 1362481] Re: openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix
Yes, they are definitly related, but not caused by the exact same configuration. But still, the fixes i oulined may fix that bug too. I can't provide our exact configuration, but I followed the guide at http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin24/replication.html#Syncrepl%20Proxy to set up replication to another ldap. This causes the suffix to appear in both of /etc/ldap/slap.d/cn=config/olcDatabase={1}hdb.ldif /etc/ldap/slap.d/cn=config/olcDatabase={2}ldap.ldif Only the first of them has olcDbDirectory in it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1362481 Title: openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/1362481/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1362481] Re: openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix
Great. Thanks for that link, and also for the analysis and suggestions. You're right: there is an implicit assumption that suffixes are unique, and this setup is a valid one that breaks it. With this change: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg- openldap/openldap.git/commit/debian/slapd.scripts- common?id=57b0cc5ae377b00219e73be87e0c3a151b5eda99 the dump part at least doesn't fail (slapcat -b dc=example,dc=com is executed twice, operating on the disk-backed db both times), but I wouldn't exactly call that correct. Of course, running slapadd -b dc=example,dc=com twice is never going to work. (Well, maybe if the database is totally empty.) (Additionally, moving the old database out of the way doesn't work if we have {1}ldap and {2}hdb instead of the reverse.) I already wanted to redo the loops like you suggested; this is just another reason to move forward on that. Probably it would be most robust to use slap{cat, add} -nN instead of -b $suffix; at least that would have the least chance for ambiguity. ** Changed in: openldap (Ubuntu) Status: New = In Progress ** Changed in: openldap (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Ryan Tandy (rtandy) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1362481 Title: openldap upgrade fails. chwon of olcDbDirectory, /var/lib/ldap not empty and missing backup of suffix To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/1362481/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1362790] [NEW] samba reports panic action
Public bug reported: When one of the laptops on our network tries to attach to the Samba share it creates these panic action results. The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action, was called for PID 32536 (/usr/sbin/smbd). This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault. Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows the state of the program at the time the error occurred. The Samba log files may contain additional information about the problem. If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the samba-dbg package, which contains the debugging symbols for the Samba binaries. Then submit the provided information as a bug report to Ubuntu by visiting this link: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+filebug [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] Using host libthread_db library /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1. 0x7fbacb6db99c in __libc_waitpid (pid=32537, stat_loc=stat_loc@entry=0x7fffc63b7ad0, options=options@entry=0) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/waitpid.c:31 #0 0x7fbacb6db99c in __libc_waitpid (pid=32537, stat_loc=stat_loc@entry=0x7fffc63b7ad0, options=options@entry=0) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/waitpid.c:31 #1 0x7fbacb6605a2 in do_system (line=optimized out) at ../sysdeps/posix/system.c:148 #2 0x7fbaccff5061 in smb_panic_s3 () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libsmbconf.so.0 #3 0x7fbace51dc6f in smb_panic () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libsamba-util.so.0 #4 0x7fbace0e6136 in ?? [Bug 1353011] Re: Trusty's crm configure load fails to update cluster configuration
Hello Rafael, or anyone else affected, Accepted crmsh into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/crmsh/1.2.5+hg1034-1ubuntu4 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .
