[Bug 1366983] [NEW] /etc/cron.daily/spamassassin should support auto-updating 3rd party rulesets
Public bug reported: Wishlist item. I was hoping to add the Sought ruleset to spamassassin (https://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/SoughtRules), and I couldn't find an elegant way to integrate it with the packaged daily cronjob. It would be very easy to implement, however, and I hope you'd consider it. What I'm picturing is replacing the following line in /etc/cron.daily/spamassassin: su - debian-spamd -c "sa-update --gpghomedir /var/lib/spamassassin/sa-update-keys" With something like this: su - debian-spamd -c "sa-update --gpghomedir /var/lib/spamassassin/sa-update-keys --channelfile /etc/spamassassin/sa-update-channels" And then have the package /etc/spamassassin/sa-update-channels file contain only "updates.spamassassin.org", but let end users add to this file if they wish. [Bug 1321354] Re: open samba shares become unresponsive if unused for 15 minutes
I also have this issue... at the office with a Windows 2003 Server, and at home with two Buffalo link stations. Initial secure connect is quick and painless, but after about 15 minutes, even with docs/files open but inactive... the connection is lost and multiple refreshes are necessary to re-attain a working connection. If a change is made to an open idle document/spreadsheet or even a paused video in Totem is restarted, the window grays and the rotating circle is present. I have multiple directory maps to the same server, and when one is forced to refresh and become active again, the others do not. They each have to go through the same lengthy refresh period in order to be accessible. At times, the listing of the directory in the side panel tree is removed, and a root refresh is required to get it back. I do nothing but praise the reliability of Ubuntu with fellow co-workers (who are all on Windows with its set of problems) but this problem is a major issue. Thanks for elevating this to a confirmed status, and hopefully it will be assigned soon! [Bug 1366762] [NEW] Can't access a local network share (folder) from a window computer
Public bug reported: On the Ubuntu 14.04 computer: - open a folder in Nautilus - right-click on a subfolder - select "Local Network Share" - Check all the checkboxes: "Share this folder", "allow others to create...", "guest access" - to the prompt whether to allow Nautilus to modify permissions automatically, say yes - save. >From a window computer connected to the same local network: - go to Network - the Ubuntu computer is listed. Double click it - double click on the folder that you have shared before Expected: should be able to open the folder Observed: window gives error: access denied. I have another shared folder within the same filesystem in the same disk in the same computer, which I created ages ago, and that one works fine. All the settings are apparently identical. Do I perhaps need to reboot (or restart the samba server in some way) for the changes to be effective? If that is the case, it's a bug too. [Bug 1366762] Re: Can't access a local network share (folder) from a window computer
Now I notice where it says "Share name is too long". That's a ridiculous way of displaying a warning. If the too-long name is really a problem, the warning should be highlighted in red with a warning icon (e.g. a danger sign), and should not allow to save changes. If it isn't an issue, then it shouldn't be displayed at all. I changed the share name to a shorter one and the issue persists. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1366762 Title: Can't access a local network share (folder) from a window computer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1366762/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1366174] Re: apache2 SEGV with multiple SSL sites
Robie: that attitude is quite understandable. I'm willing to do some work bisecting it, but I fear the root problem is going to be that addressed this commit: http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1573360 The ssl_pphrase_Handle routine is misleadingly named, and in fact is pretty much the core SSL initialisation routine for all the sites. What appears to be going wrong is one of the addresses for the callback going awry. The above commit rewrites this completely (which is an intrusive change) - the author's opinion of the previous code is evident from the commit message. As you can see, upstream's proposed fix was 'upgrade'. I don't think this will qualify as a 'minimal patch'. As far as I can tell from playing so far, the root problem seems to be connected to .so file loading. modphp + moddbd postgresql tickles it, but I suspect other combinations will as well. If it's going to be difficult to fix this against 2.4.7, would getting 2.4.10 (the Utopic version) into trusty-backports be permissible? That way at least I'd get security updates. I can confirm this builds out of the box with no issues. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1366174 Title: apache2 SEGV with multiple SSL sites To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apache2/+bug/1366174/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1361844] Re: dist-upgrade to 14.04.1 LTS crashed
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. Note that the Apache 2.2 -> Apache 2.4 upgrade often requires manual configuration changes and is not necessarily automatic. Please see the release notes at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TrustyTahr/ReleaseNotes#Apache_2.4. If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: apache2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1361844 Title: dist-upgrade to 14.04.1 LTS crashed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1361844/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1366174] Re: apache2 SEGV with multiple SSL sites
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better, and for filing the upstream bug and investigation further. I'm worried about the regression risk of pushing for an update to 2.4.10 in Ubuntu; the changelog looks scary here, I can see some entries that suggest that there may be changes in behaviour and I don't want users yelling at me for causing regressions (in any case, only the Technical Board can approve this). We can however push a minimal patch to Trusty and Utopic that fixes the issue, if you can identify one. A bisection might help you here. I see that you've provided the test case; I'd prefer for you to verify any fixes with those test cases if possible. ** Changed in: apache2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1366174 Title: apache2 SEGV with multiple SSL sites To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apache2/+bug/1366174/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
