[Bug 1451807] [NEW] mod-wsgi not working with Python 3.4

2015-05-05 Thread JanMalte
Public bug reported:

According to https://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/22948 and
http://askubuntu.com/a/569551 the current version of mod-wsgi shipped
with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is not working with Python 3.4, which is also
shipped in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Having a not working combination of packages is very disappointing and
should be fixed soon, as this is an LTS and created for servers.

The only way for running an application using Python 3.4 on Ubuntu is
not using an LTS on the server, which shouldn't be a solution.

2015-05-05 Thread Ben Howard
Hi Vincent -- thanks for helping. I would be happy to include this patch
as part of the next SRU, but since we don't have a CloudStack to test
this on, we would need your help on putting this through the SRU
process. If you can apply the patch and the SRU'ify this bug, I'll be
happy to sponsor it (and that way you get the credit).

Hi Vincent, if you can provide a debdiff and then add test case (see Bug

for for SRU, you would need follow the test case and mark it as

[Bug 1451866] [NEW] ipmitool fails to change boot mode to PXE-boot on UEFI-based server

2015-05-05 Thread Roderick Smith
Public bug reported:

I've tried to use ipmitool to change a server's configuration from
local-disk booting to PXE-booting using ipmitool, thus:

ipmitool -H 172.24.25.53 -U ubuntu -P passwd chassis bootdev pxe

The man page suggests this should work, although it doesn't explicitly
mention EFI/UEFI-mode operation. In practice, though, it did not work.
I've tried it against three servers:

* Lenovo x3550 M5 with a 2.31 EFI "by EDK II"
* Lenovo x3650 M5 with a 2.31 EFI "by EDK II"
* Dell PowerEdge T110 2.10 EFI "by Dell"

I've tried numerous variants, including in-band and out-of band, running
the command out-of-band when the target server is powered on vs. powered
off, rebooting or powering up via ipmitool vs. locally, and forcing PXE-
booting from a local disk boot and vice versa. (I haven't tried every
combination of server and test, but I've tried many of them.) In all
cases, ipmitool has had no effect; the server has booted or rebooted in
the way it was configured to boot locally, via efibootmgr.

It's unclear to me if this is a bug in ipmitool, a limitation of the
IPMI protocol with respect to EFI-based systems, or a limitation of the
test servers.

Requested version information:

$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS
Release:14.04

$ apt-cache policy ipmitool

[Bug 1382481] Re: Support for CloudStack's basic networking in Precise

2015-05-05 Thread Vincent Bernat
Proposed fix for this issue.

** Description changed:

- cloud-init in Precise is unable to handle CloudStack because it tries to

+ unable to retrieve user data because they query the default gateway
+ instead of the virtual router. With basic networking, the default
+ gateway is not the virtual router (it could be any router). Without user

+ 2. rm /var/lib/cloud
+ 3. reboot
+ 4. Check userdata is now correctly retrieved (in
/var/lib/cloud/instances*/cloud-config.txt)
+
+ [REGRESSION POTENTIAL]
+ - Inexistant for non CloudStack source.
+ - Need testing for CloudStack with advanced networking.
+ - Only a backport of what is already working fine in Trusty.

be a problem, this is just a backport).

The test case may be difficult to execute in real conditions: with the
"current" VM images, you won't be able to login after boot (both
accounts will get a random password and you won't get your SSH keys
setup). So, either you need some patched VM images or you need to change
root password from Grub. However, as a non-regression test, it is
perfectly valid.

[Bug 1451879] [NEW] bug in check_http with http auth

2015-05-05 Thread Reiner Keller
Public bug reported:

Hello,

wenn calling "normal" check_http -a user:pass the plugin creates an
HTTP Basic auth header which decodes to " user:pass" with an additional
space at beginning which causes http auth to fail.

# /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_http -V
check_http v1.5 (nagios-plugins 1.5)

# apt-cache show nagios-plugins-basic | grep ^Version
Version: 1.5-3ubuntu1
# lsb_release -d
Description:Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS

actual workaround:

/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_http -H host -auser:pass ...

Bests

[Bug 1452016] [NEW] uvtool-libvirt needs arch specific templates

2015-05-05 Thread Ryan Harper
Public bug reported:

uvt-kvm currently has only one template for creating KVM guests. The
template hardcodes x86-specific values which are not available on
non-x86 (arm and ppc64el). Ideally, uvtool could do something like
/usr/share/uvtool/$arch-template.xml though we'll need something to
handle things like uname -m returning ppc64le, and the "arch" of the
packages being ppc64el.

I'll attach a functional template for ppc64le that I can specify via
uvt-kvm create 's cli.

1. $ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 15.04
Release:15.04
2. $ apt-cache policy uvtool-libvirt

3. uvt-kvm create --memory 512 --cpu 1 --disk 10 test1 creates a kvm instance
on ppc64el host.
4. failed to create the instances because the template wasn't valid for ppc64el
guest.

[Bug 1444532] Re: nova-scheduler doesnt reconnect to databases when started and database is down

2015-05-05 Thread Sylvain Bauza
Not sure it's Nova related, since the connection is managed by MySQLdb here.
That's all due to the configuration done on SQLA like said in
http://docs.sqlalchemy.org/en/rel_1_0/core/engines.html

Please check your "connection" option for the nova.conf file as this is
how it's called.

before I can start looking into this one, but I will keep this bug up to
date as/when I can start work on it - apologies for not being able to be

[Bug 1451232] Re: container does not receive IP address after 15.04 upgrade

2015-05-05 Thread Kevin Dalley
Thanks. That works.

Stopping and starting systemtl once fixed the problem.

I did have some issues with the upgrade in general, and discovered a
memory problem. Bad memory is now gone.

Perhaps that was responsible for some of the problem. Perhaps not.

I expected that reinstalling lxc with good memory should have fixed any
problem caused by bad memory.

[Bug 1452087] Re: slapd [or its init script] does not create necessary directory for nssov socket and fails to start

2015-05-05 Thread Ryan Tandy
IIRC slapd does try to create the directory, but it's already switched
users by that point, so doesn't have sufficient privileges.

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-
branches/ubuntu/vivid/openldap/vivid/view/head:/contrib/slapd-
modules/nssov/nssov.c#L808

I don't know whether the overlay has a way to run code before switching
permissions. Might be worth filing an ITS about, as this really should
work. Otherwise, the init script is probably the most reasonable place
to do it; but only if nssov is actually being used.

(apparmor may also be involved as pmatulis suggests. I didn't check.)

[Bug 1439280] Re: Libvirt CPU affinity error

But that makes no sense. If you were changing

# While earlier versions could support NUMA reporting and

# to pin guest nodes to host nodes, so mandate that. Without
# this the scheduler cannot make guaranteed decisions, as the
# guest placement may not match what was requested
MIN_LIBVIRT_NUMA_VERSION = (1, 2, 7)

I could see that helping but MIN_LIBVIRT_BLOCKCOMMIT_RELATIVE_VERSION ?
