[Bug 1513569] [NEW] net-snmp-config --base-lib-cflags is broken
You have been subscribed to a public bug by Robie Basak (racb): The --base-lib-cflags option to net-snmp-config added by Debian developers is broken as it outputs @LIBCFLAGS@ among others. The problem comes from the fact that when it was introduced (version 5.4.2.1~dsfg-4), the original patch modified the configure.in file as well. In the meantime, the structure of configure.ac has changed and when the patch was adapted, the modification to configure.ac was dropped, resulting in a substitution left aside. The attached patch is an attempt to restore the original behavior. It is meant as a replacement of debian/patches/62_add_lib_cflags.patch . Nevertheless, the way information output by net-snmp-config --base-lib- cflags is gathered is wrong. There shouldn't IMHO be any GCC optimization flags like -O2 in the substitution, among others. The variable to substitute @LIBCFLAGS@ should be carefully constructed during the configure process instead. ** Affects: net-snmp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: needs-upstream-report patch -- net-snmp-config --base-lib-cflags is broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1513569 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to the bug report. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1479652] Re: [patch] ntpd rejects source UDP ports less than 123 as bogus

[Bug 1510345] Re: [SRU] Cloud Images do not bring up networking w/ certain virtual NICs due to device naming rules
Setting net.ifnames=0 in livecd-rootfs was a quick hack for wily, but this is really inconvenient. This means that the cloud images now stop being usable for non-cloud workloads (or even for cloud workloads with multiple NICs). The proper fix would be for cloud-init to generate a network config on first boot, for the first /sys/class/e* interface, instead of shipping a hardcoded /etc/network/interfaces.d/eth0.cfg. [Bug 1464875] Re: package fancontrol 1:3.3.5-2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Just installed ubuntu 15.10 and the cpu fan started increasing in speed for no apparent reason at random times then slowing down... most annoying. Whilst investigating this I thought I would try fancontrol... but this did not seem to be able to help leaving the cpu fan blasting away at full speed and so I uninstalled fancontrol with sudo apt-get purge fancontrol This left /etc/fancontrol on the disk and not correctly configured .. I thought this a bit odd so sudo apt-get install fancontrol and the install failed and I ended up at this bug after the automatic bug report system sent me here... .. So the next thing to do was delete /etc/fancontrol and re-install fancontrol and I did not get this crash. and the install worked just fine. Still not enabled fancontrol because my pc does not seem to like PWM fan control so I will hope that the CPU fan stays well controlled. Not sure if this experience will help anyone... but the tip is see if /etc/fancontrol is already on the disk and if the sudo apt-get install fancontrol fails have a look at the contents of that file / back it up / delete it and try again. Pity that sudo apt-get purge fancontrol does not purge all the configuration...
