[Bug 1493156] Re: pm-suspend aborts if highest numbered CPU offline, as of kernel 4.2

2015-11-22 Thread Doug Smythies
As of kernel 4.4-rc1 this bug becomes invalid, as the kernel was patched such
that this issue no longer occurs.
I'll wait until kernel 4.4 is finished, check again, then set the status of
this bug report to invalid.

[Bug 1347020] Re: systemd does not boot in a container

2015-11-22 Thread Jens Elkner
Today I upgraded our last utopic containers (~10) to vivid using do-
release-upgrade: Everywhere the same: after reboot systemd is the only
thing which is running in the container, but nothing else happens. It
doesn't start anything! So the only way to get the stuff fixed is to
manually attach to the container, do a ' ln -sf upstart /sbin/init',
logout and force a lxc-stop/start of the container and do the remaining
things ...

[Bug 1312419] Re: nl_cache_refill; rtnl_neigh_get fail to find neighbors in cache

2015-11-22 Thread Talat Batheesh
Hi Rafael,

Unfortunately, after installing the PPA, the udaddy test still fail on Ubuntu
14.04.3 LTS.
Tested with ConnectX3-pro.

root # udaddy -b 1.1.1.1
udaddy: starting server
receiving data transfers

^C
root# uname -r
3.13.0-68-generic
root# cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS \n \l

Client side
# udaddy -s 1.1.1.1 -b 1.1.1.2
udaddy: starting client
udaddy: connecting
udaddy: failure creating address handle
test complete
return status -1

As a reference, may we need to add the following patches that mentioned in Bug
#1364442
“
Ubuntu is missing some code to make this work. The issue is that libmlx4 and
libibverbs is missing the code for RoCE UD neighboor code.
Here I found the series of patches needed:
For libmlx4:
[PATCH libmlx4 V4 0/2] Add RoCE IP based addressing support for UD QPs
[PATCH libmlx4 V4 1/2] Add ibv_query_port caching support
[PATCH libmlx4 V4 2/2] Add RoCE IP based addressing support for UD QPs
For libibverbs:
[PATCH libibverbs V5 0/2] Use neighbour lookup for RoCE UD QPs Eth L2 resolution
[PATCH libibverbs V5 1/2] Add ibv_port_cap_flags
[PATCH libibverbs V5 2/2] Use neighbour lookup for RoCE UD QPs Eth L2 resolution
”

Yours,
Talat

Re: [Bug 1312419] Re: nl_cache_refill; rtnl_neigh_get fail to find neighbors in cache

2015-11-22 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
Awesome. Thank you Talat. This was actually a simple example I was giving
to Kamal, explaining to him how the SRU process worked and giving him a
real example on how to provide a debdiff and create a PPA. So, I really did
not expect the fix to be "good" but to give him so clue how things worked.

It is good that you are catching up with bugs. I'll compile the testcase,
backport the commits you are mentioning and provide you a PPA to test, okay
? Please expect this to take sometime (a week) because of my Ubuntu
Advantage workload.

Thank you !!

Cheers

Rafael

[Bug 1518715] [NEW] ip rule show/list runs on and on after software update

2015-11-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have the iproute2 package installed on a 14.04 LTS system. Everything
was operating just fine. I had not done a software update in a while.
I used the Software Updater from Dash and updated the system. It
updated a couple hundred megabytes. The update completed without error
(as far as I know). It said a reboot was needed. So I rebooted.

After that, I had problems.

Specifically, when I type "ip rule list", the output runs on and on and on,
seemingly without end.
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
0:from all lookup local
...

I tried "ip rule flush" which seems to hang.
I was eventually able to clear out the rules with:
ip rule del pref 0
ip rule del pref 32766
ip rule del pref 32767

But that leaves me without even the 3 standard rules, which are:
0: from all lookup local
32766: from all lookup main
32767: from all lookup default

So I need to add those back
But as soon as I try to add the first of the 3 standard ip rules, the problem
occurs again:
ip rule add from all table local pref 0
ip rule list
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
0: from all lookup local
...

The same thing occurs if I try to add any of the other standard rules.

I tried updating a second 14.04 LTS machine. The same thing happened to
that one.

Now what?

[Bug 1518715] Re: ip rule show/list runs on and on after software update

2015-11-22 Thread Michael Fox
Kernel version 3.16.0-53.

This may be the same as bug #1514785, which I found after submitting
this bug. The other bug has lots of comments about which kernels are
affected.

[Bug 1507959] [NEW] Regression: Kernel update breaks all lxc-containers lxc-start failing with (apparmor="DENIED" operation="mount")

2015-11-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Hello,
The following recent kernel update completely break our lxc-start usage on
precise both with precise original kernel 3.2 + also the trusty-lts-stack using
3.13

After installing those new kernel updates all lxc-start of a container fail
with:
"Permission denied - mount failed '/dev/pts/ptmx'->'/dev/ptmx'"

with strace pointing to:
13695 mount("/dev/pts/ptmx", "/dev/ptmx", 0x7f4d68c85d37, MS_BIND, NULL) = -1
EACCES (Permission denied)

and dmesg showing:
Oct 20 10:59:00 titan226 kernel: [ 663.508664] type=1400
audit(1445331540.807:29): apparmor="DENIED" operation="mount"
info="failed type match" error=-13 profile="/usr/bin/lxc-start"
name="/dev/ptmx" pid=2897 comm="lxc-start"
srcname="/dev/pts/ptmx" flags="rw, bind"

After downgrading kernel version the problem immediately dissappeared
and the lxc-start for containers works again as before.

Bad versions:
ii linux-image-3.13.0-66-generic3.13.0-66.108~precise1Linux
kernel image for version 3.13.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP
ii linux-image-3.2.0-92-generic 3.2.0-92.130 Linux
kernel image for version 3.2.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP

Good versions:
ii linux-image-3.13.0-61-generic3.13.0-61.100~precise1Linux
kernel image for version 3.13.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP
ii linux-image-3.2.0-88-generic 3.2.0-88.126 Linux
kernel image for version 3.2.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP

[Bug 1347020] Re: systemd does not boot in a container

2015-11-22 Thread Rafał Błaszczyk
The problem is fixed but needs additional comment.
I've had a problem after upgrading only lxc package from trusty-backports.
The network was not working in debian jessie and after logging in (lxc-attach)
systemd was not working correctly.
The solution was to update not only lxc package but also lxc-templates and
recreate guest OS.

rm -rf /var/cache/lxc/debian # remove cached debian template
apt-get install -t trusty-backports lxc lxc-templates # update both lxc and
lxc-templates

After that it works without a problem. Thank you for the fix.
