Do you have any relay map files in /etc/postfix/? If you don't know, please
provide a list of the files present in that directory.

2016-02-25 Thread William Grant
I grabbed 2.0.0~rc3-0ubuntu2 before I wrote those comments, as I noticed
the cgfs changes. My last reboot was this morning, between upgrading to
-0ubuntu1 and -0ubuntu2, so I think the apparmor stuff is still broken.
The profile doesn't even appear if I explicitly apparmor_parser -r, -a,
-R in any combination, though --debug definitely shows it parsing that
file. It's very, very weird.

This is all with Linux 4.4.0-7, since I hadn't noticed 4.4.0-8 sitting
in -proposed. I might retry with that.

2016-02-25 Thread Stéphane Graber
Hmm, does /etc/init.d/apparmor reload fix the profile not being loaded?

We've not been introducing new profiles very often and those profiles
are loaded through apparmor includes so I can certainly see a standard
dh_apparmor being confused by it and not reloading everything properly
on upgrade.

But forcing an apparmor reload or rebooting the machine sure should fix
that.

[Bug 1549363] Re: Unprivileged LXC will not start after today's updates

2016-02-25 Thread Stéphane Graber
As for the cgroups, we've noticed at least one issue in the cgfs logic
of LXC which was fixed earlier today, the package is still going through
QA (currently in proposed), should make it to the release pocket within
a couple of hours.

The fix was specifically to fix unprivileged but root-owned containers
failing to start due to using the wrong cgroup paths. I'm not sure if
that covers this bug's specific case. If it doesn't then we'll have to
look at this more closely.

Note that those regressions are showing up as a result of us removing cgmanager
and switching to straight cgroupfs, things also got slightly more messy as that
particular LXC change ended up landing right around the same time as the first
cgns enabled kernel which also happened to be broken when used in unprivileged
containers.

So what we know right now is:
 - lxc prior to 2.0.0~rc3-0ubuntu2 will fail to setup cgroups for unprivileged
containers spawned by the root user, leading to container startup failures
 - linux prior to 4.4.0-8-generic will fail to mount cgroupfs inside
unprivileged containers, leading to container starting up but pid1 immediately
failing and no other processes getting spawned.

2016-02-25 Thread William Grant
lxc-container-default-cgns doesn't show up in apparmor_status, despite
the other three being there.

If I hack a container's config to use lxc-container-default rather than
lxc-container-default-cgns, hack that profile to allow cgfs, and start
that container, lxc-container-default-cgns shows up and other unmodified
containers can now start. Weird.

[Bug 1549403] Re: [FFe]: improvements and fixes to cloud-init networking

2016-02-25 Thread Scott Moser
** Description changed:

Ubuntu cloud images have network information “hard coded” in
/etc/network/interfaces (ENI). For cloud images, this configuration has
always amounted to “dhcp on eth0”.  For MAAS images
  /etc/network/interfaces is a symlink to /run/network/dynamic-interfaces
which is populated from within the initramfs by the cloud-initramfs-dyn-
netconf package based on the result of ‘ip=’ parameters on the kernel
command line.  Both of these networking configurations came from the
initial use case for the image type.  For cloud-images, this was EC2 and
for maas-images, the maas ephemeral environment.

The ‘static’ nature of network configuration in these images makes the
difficult to use for anything other than their original use case.  It
also makes specific images required simply for networking configuration.

Items to be fixed with in cloud-init are:
- * remove need for xenial images to have persistent networking disabled
- * allow easily disabling of cloud-init
- * Defined and sane behavior on re-writing ENI
- * Support single and multi-nic network info from  by openstack config-drive
- * Support dynamic naming of single network device system
- * MAAS / iscsi root with ip= but no symlink from ENI to
/run/network/dyn-interfaces
- * General Cloud-init ‘disable’ kernel command line.
- * Cloud-localds support for configuring networking

filesystem

Ok. Thanks for the update.

If that helps, I've been testing that more manually, either installing
the packages at the end of the installation (cd /target/tmp && wget
<...>.deb && chroot /target dpkg -i /target/tmp/*.deb), or by installing
the packages after system is already installed (just manually fixing the
boot problem at initramfs time break=pre-multipath for example).

Regards.

--- Comment From mauri...@br.ibm.com 2016-02-25 12:21 EDT---
Correction:

-packages at the end of the installation (cd /target/tmp && wget <...>.deb &&
-chroot /target dpkg -i /target/tmp/*.deb),

+packages at the end of the installation (cd /target/tmp && wget <...>.deb &&
+chroot /target dpkg -i /tmp/*.deb),

BTW, if you have a chance, it'd be nice to have a Trusty 'affects' row
for tracking purposes. Otherwise it seems this is already resolved
(despite your comment). Thanks.

I have no idea what can cause this access to /dev/tty. I never ran into
this problem on my own server which is similar minus the EAP/RADIUS
part, I use xauth-generic only.

> dpdtimeout = 5s
> dpddelay = 5s

Not related to the problem at hand but you generally don't want
dpdtimeout to be equal to dpddelay. Having them equal means that loosing
a single DPD packet will kill the tunnel and have the client reconnect.

With mobile client, occasional packet loss shouldn’t force the
connection to be re-established. You usually want to redial only after
loosing say 3 DPD packets. This better detects peers going offline or
being affected by more severe connectivity problems.

As such, I'd recommend something like this:

  dpdtimeout=15s
  dpddelay=5s

Also, keep in mind that a low dpddelay drains the clients' battery as it
keeps the radio transmitter active more often.

Again, not related but aren't the 2 rightsourceip= overlapping?

I honestly don't know why charon tries to access /dev/tty. Are you able
to see that message on the console or the upstart log when the Apparmor
profile is disabled?

[Bug 1503611] Re: systemd: spamassassin not starting after upgrading to 15.04

2016-02-25 Thread Tony Middleton
I think there might be two separate things here.

I've just had the same problem with a Debian system with spamassassin
not loading at boot time. My "systemctl status" was similar to the
above ie "disabled". "systemctl enable" didn't start the service but
changed the status to enabled and gave output as above. "systemctl
start" started the service OK and it now starts at boot.

The second post above refers to a different problem which looks like it
is covered by the bug mentioned.

[Bug 1549436] Re: AppArmor kills StronSwan daemon 'charon'

2016-02-25 Thread ruslan_ka
The server serves only incoming VPN requests, it is for mobile road-
warriors. And the error does not occur right after starting a
strongswan or bringing tunnels up. So it makes no sense to run it with
auto=add or not.

Strongswan is serving clients ok. It is working for a long time until a
first DENIAL. It looks like it is somehow related to reauthentication of
xauth iOS client, but I can't reproduce it. Sometimes client can reauth
ok, as I can see at logs, but sometimes right after successful reauth I
see this error. There are about 5 active clients right now with 20-30
connections per/day, and server gives me an error once/twice per day. I
would not even note it, if it'd not break accounting at radius.

If ipsec runs at debug mode at console (--nofork) I don't get this
error.

[Bug 1540407] Re: multipathd drops paths of a temporarily lost device

2016-02-25 Thread Ryan Harper
Hi Thorsten,

Thanks for the update. I'll attempt to find out if I can force a detach
on the host-side to recreate the issue on x86 while I'm waiting for a Z
system with FCP devices.

Could you attempt to use the Debian package from Sid on top of the
Ubuntu system? This will help rule out kernel related issues vs.
userspace package bugs.

You can download from here

http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/m/multipath-tools/multipath-
tools_0.5.0+git1.656f8865-4_s390x.deb

And then force install with

sudo dpkg --force all --install multipath-
tools_0.5.0+git1.656f8865-4_s390x.deb

If this is successful, then I can prepare a package with some updated
fixes from upstream; there are a number of changes to path related
discovery in upstream multipath that aren't yet included in the Ubuntu
version.

on the most recent repro I already had version: 0.5.0-7ubuntu14 - same symptom.
With

I could not reproduce this symptom on z Systems.

Approved repro is as follows:

2016-02-25 Thread Simon Déziel
If you re-enable the Apparmor profile and set your connection to not
auto start (use "auto=add") when do you get the access denial on
/dev/tty? Is it after restarting the strongswan service or when you call
"ipsec up $conn"?

Lastly, would you mind providing an obfuscated version of your
ipsec.secrets and ipsec.conf?

OSD to keep most xattrs small enough to be stored inline in XFS inodes.

We recommend that all hammer v0.94.x users upgrade.

[Bug 1473691] Re: [FFe] squid: Update to latest upstream release (3.5)

2016-02-25 Thread Robie Basak
11:26 Laney: thank you for responding to bug 1473691. I have notes to
test against squidguard, squid-deb-proxy and to check upgrade paths more
throroughly. Would you prefer that I do this before upload?

https://launchpad.net/bugs/1473691
11:26 Apart from that it's ready - no known issues.
11:27 The disadvantage presumably is that nobody else can also test
until I've uploaded.
11:27 (easily)
11:27 rbasak: You could upload and then block in proposed until you've
done
11:27 Up to you
11:27 That sounds like a good plan. I'll do that, thanks.

Are you ready to upload now?

It's still quite early, so go ahead. I think I would be optimally happy
if this were added to manual milestone testing so that QA people (or
whoever) check that squid works/upgrades/etc - but I'll leave that point
to you.

Cheers,

[Bug 1549473] Re: ssh will not start at boot: systemctl status ssh -> output is listed as failed 255.

2016-02-25 Thread Colin Watson
Please can you provide as much information as you have? For example,
"the ctl status is failed 255" is clearly a paraphrase of something that
you're seeing; it would be more useful if you could please copy and
paste the original text of the error messages.

Forum research is probably leading you up entirely the wrong path; that
sounds like information that predates systemd. The ssh.service unit has
"After=network.target".

"journalctl -u sshd" won't find anything because that's not what the
unit is called. Try "journalctl -u ssh".

[Bug 1549672] [NEW] Default config files don't match postfix 3

2016-02-25 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
Public bug reported:

With the recent merge to postfix 3 there were quite some changes to its
configuration.
Now postfix has a lot to handle those changes in a compatible way so that old
configurations should transfer to postfix 3 as good as possible.

In case any incompatibilities occur it reports that in the log and
refers to http://www.postfix.org/COMPATIBILITY_README.html to handle
them.

While all that is great for anyone migrating from an old system with any
kind of custom config, there is not much sense in throwing all these
messages out at someone that just freshly installed it.

To Reproduce just:
apt-get remove --purge postfix
apt-get install postfix

in /var/log/mail.log:
Feb 24 11:08:35 lap postfix[25109]: Postfix is running with
backwards-compatible default settings
Feb 24 11:08:35 lap postfix[25109]: See
http://www.postfix.org/COMPATIBILITY_README.html for details
Feb 24 11:08:35 lap postfix[25109]: To disable backwards compatibility use
"postconf compatibility_level=2" and "postfix reload"
Feb 24 11:08:35 lap postfix/master[24994]: reload -- version 3.0.4,
configuration /etc/postfix
Feb 24 11:08:35 lap postfix/master[24994]: /etc/postfix/master.cf: line 12:
using backwards-compatible default setting chroot=y
[...] there are more like those

So overall I'd suggest we deliver default configuration files that match
a valid (not only due to backward compatibility) postfix 3
configuration.
