[Bug 1553378] [NEW] recursive sftp transfers abort when destination dir exists

[Bug 1552249] Re: No builtin nor plugin backend for ipasam found
Let me comment as FreeIPA and Samba upstream developer. Ubuntu's Samba build is done with Heimdal and you cannot build ipasam.so against Heimdal, only MIT Kerberos. So you cannot use Ubuntu-provided Samba build this way even if you'd recompile FreeIPA with patches we have upstream to deal with libpdb -> libsamba-pdb library name change. So until Samba in Debian and Ubuntu is built against Heimdal Kerberos (this is due to Debian/Ubuntu packaging Samba AD, not just Samba) it is unlikely to have FreeIPA trust to AD working in Ubuntu. We are fairly close with completing port of Samba AD to MIT Kerberos upstream, this should happen in Samba 4.5-4.6 timeframe. Once that is done, we can expect FreeIPA with trust to AD working on Debian-based platforms as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1552249 Title: No builtin nor plugin backend for ipasam found To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1552249/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1553261] Re: [FFe] Standing FFe for MAAS 2.0
Can you talk a bit about your rdepends and how they'll be impacted with this change? Also, what's your testing story for Ubuntu package? You're asking for a standing FFe which I suspect means we'll be getting a bunch of uploads of MAAS, when do you expect the first upload to happen and what version (alpha? beta?) will that be? Then how often do you expect to upload new releases and when do you plan on having 2.0 final into the archive? I basically just want to make sure that we won't be breaking downstream MAAS users at the last minute with limited to no way to fix things. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1553261 Title: [FFe] Standing FFe for MAAS 2.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/+bug/1553261/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1505839] [NEW] Unable to install from text mode interface
You have been subscribed to a public bug by Robie Basak (racb): I use packer (https://www.packer.io) to automate the creation of Ubuntu virtual machine images. It's "boot_command" allows you to pass key presses to the installer. For 15.04, I use something like this: - "boot_command": [ "", "/install/vmlinuz auto url=http://{{ .HTTPIP }}:{{ .HTTPPort }}/ubuntu-15-04.cfg ", "debian-installer=en_US locale=en_US kbd-chooser/method=us ", "hostname={{ .Name }} ", "keyboard-configuration/modelcode=SKIP ", "keyboard-configuration/layout=USA ", "keyboard-configuration/variant=USA ", "initrd=/install/initrd.gz -- " ], Pressing escape twice and then enter brings you to the text mode interface and then it boots the installer with a preseed file served over HTTP: /install/vmlinuz auto url=http://10.0.2.2:8081/ubuntu-15-04.cfg debian-installer=en_US locale=en_US kbd-chooser/method=us hostname=myhostname keyboard-configuration/modelcode=SKIP keyboard- configuration/layout=USA keyboard-configuration/variant=USA initrd=/install/initrd.gz -- This successfully boots and installs on 15.04. On 15.10 it displays: Loading bootlogo... Initializing gfx code... And then returns to the to the language selection screen. Manually booting the iso and entering the text mode interface, the same thing happens. I've tried with both the 10/13 daily and Beta-2 images. [Bug 1553176] [NEW] BIND ignores nanoseconds field in timestamps, fails to load newer versions of zones on reload
Public bug reported: Since 2.6, linux has supported nanosecond granular time in stat(2) returns. BIND has a comment in the code that it might use it, but continues to ignore it. As of 9.9.3b2, named checks the time of (at least) zone files on disk (expanding to include include files in 9.10.0a2). Because the check is only done to a granularity of seconds, changing the zone file twice in the same second can cause BIND to decide that it need not reload the zone, even though it is out of date. ** Affects: bind Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: maas Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: bind9 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Patch added: "patch to fix the issue." https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1553176/+attachment/4588314/+files/70_precise_time.diff ** Also affects: bind Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: maas Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1553176 Title: BIND ignores nanoseconds field in timestamps, fails to load newer versions of zones on reload To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bind/+bug/1553176/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1552949] Re: the "http2" parameter requires ngx_http_v2_module
I've currently been testing Debian 8 Jessie, with the debian backport of Nginx 1.9.10, with great success on HTTP/2. The good thing is that HTTP/2 support is not entirely new, being the HTTP/2 itself is based on SPDY, Nginx were able to use the existing SPDY implementation for HTTP/2 support, so although HTTP/2 has only been out since Sept 15, it is based on a module released in Feb 2014. As far as I know, SPDY has been enabled since Ubuntu 15.04. If HTTP/2 is continuing to be disabled, does there need to be a note in relation to there being no support for SPDY or HTTP/2 moving forward? Users who upgrade from an older release would be advised by Nginx to swap "spdy" with "http2", but that obviously won't work if the module is disabled, where previously SPDY was enabled in the package. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nginx in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1552949 Title: the "http2" parameter requires ngx_http_v2_module To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/1552949/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1553097] [NEW] latest LXC breaks autopkgtest's LXC runner
Public bug reported: With lxc 2.0.0~rc5-0ubuntu1 the autopkgtest LXC runner is still broken (even with bug 1551960 fixed) when stderr is a terminal: $ adt-run gzip --- lxc -s adt-wily [...] adt-run [10:15:45]: ERROR: erroneous package: got 10 lines of results from extract where 4 expected: gpgv: Signature made Mon 27 Oct 2014 09:48:46 AM CET using RSA key ID BD4CA59E gpgv: Can't check signature: public key not found dpkg-source: warning: failed to verify signature on ./gzip_1.6-4ubuntu1.dsc Get:1 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/main gzip 1.6-4ubuntu1 (dsc) [1,907 B] Get:2 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/main gzip 1.6-4ubuntu1 (tar) [1,075 kB] Get:3 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/main gzip 1.6-4ubuntu1 (diff) [14.9 kB] /tmp/adt-virt-lxc.shared.xklzp9z7/downtmp/build.ehH/gzip-1.6 gzip 1.6-4ubuntu1 1 Thie first couple of lines are supposed to go to stderr, not stdout. This works if stderr is not a terminal, but a pipe, with e. g. "adt-run -l /dev/null gzip --- lxc -s adt-wily" (where stderr is sent to a pipe which gets tee'ed to both the log file and the real stderr). This is probably a regression in LXC, and it doesn't happen with older LXC nor LXD nor any other backend. But it might also be some intentional change which autopkgtest needs to be adjusted to, so for now I keep tasks for both projects. ** Affects: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1553097 Title: latest LXC breaks autopkgtest's LXC runner To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autopkgtest/+bug/1553097/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1273462] Re: Users can mistakenly run init.d scripts and cause problems if an equivalent upstart job already exists
Both mysql-server-5.5 and mysql-server-5.6 packages (e.g. under Trusty Thar) provide a sysvinit script and an upstart job for mysql. The problem here is that the maintainer has a very strange approach: 1. The sysvinit script links are symply removed in the postinstall script using update-rc.d 2.The sysvinit script doesn't respects Debian policy section 9.11.1 which states that the sysvinit scripts should abort when an upstart job is provided (As I know, Ubuntu has choosen to follow Debian policy regarding cooexistence of upstart jobs and sysvinit scripts) So yes, this situation can lead to several problems. Anybody that run the mysql sysvinit script directly (/etc/init.d/mysql) instead of using service mysql will have problems. Also, if the upstart job is present, and if the sysvninit script is enabled (sysvinit script links created), the mysql socket will be missing on reboot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1273462 Title: Users can mistakenly run init.d scripts and cause problems if an equivalent upstart job already exists To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lsb/+bug/1273462/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
