Ok, I have a simple way to reproduce this, and was able to test the upstream patch. Will give them a while to provide answers so I can merge/sync with Debian. If, by any chance, they don't sync with upstream, I'll move Ubuntu forward to 2.1.1 and let them to catch up eventually.
