[Bug 1281493] Re: Add Glusterfs VFS support
I just added an trusty ppa for this: https://launchpad.net/~monotek/+archive/samba-vfs-glusterfs Nothing in the package source was changed except glusterfs-common as build dependency in the debian control file, which is enough to build the gluster vfs module, because glusterfs is enabled by default in samba configure script. Because this is a very small change it should be easy to implement this in the standard package. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1281493 Title: Add Glusterfs VFS support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1281493/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1281493] [NEW] Add Glusterfs VFS support
Public bug reported: Samba currently misses the VFS plugin for Glusterfs. You can find it on glusterforge: https://forge.gluster.org/samba-glusterfs Our goal is to provide a seamless experience sharing GlusterFS volumes over SMB to all clients. This means leveraging Samba’s VFS (Virtual FileSystem) layer’s capabilities to bypass the filesystem layer and talk to GlusterFS as a directly-accessed object store. This project exists to provide an independent development space for a VFS module known as vfs_glusterfs, and is focused on integration with Samba version 3.6.9. Another version of vfs_glusterfs exists in the master Samba branch which is focused on integration with the latest and greatest version of Samba. ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1281493 Title: Add Glusterfs VFS support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1281493/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
