[Bug 1528251] Re: WARNING: no suitable primes in /etc/ssh/primes
This has been fixed in upstream openssh, and will be part of like 7.3 release or some such. When that gets released, makes it to debian and makes it to ubuntu, this bug will be resolved. This is a minor issue and not worth cherrypicking for. I'll just mark ubuntu task as fix released, cause we will forget to do so with 7.3 upload. http://cvsweb.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/usr.bin/ssh/dh.c?rev=1.59 =text/x-cvsweb-markup ** Changed in: openssh (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1528251 Title: WARNING: no suitable primes in /etc/ssh/primes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openssh/+bug/1528251/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Surely the bug is in Client: Prompt 2 v2.5.2 (Build 23057) on IOS 9.2.1 (see https://panic.com/prompt/), and you should report to them that it should use stronger keys to authenticate, no? We do not provide support for third party ssh clients. And we will not weaken our server to support weak clients. Also wily 15.10 on amd64, is out of scope for s390x support on xenial. [Bug 1558196] Re: rpcbind does not start on boot under systemd
We are on the right track, I have tried so many things I need to reload the system to reset the default config for everything. Our 14.04 systems run rpc.statd but not all the other nfs stuff. So maybe enabling that service will be a work around, that is it will cause rpcbind to start. I will need some time to reload a default system. [Bug 1558196] Re: rpcbind does not start on boot under systemd
I re-installed the lasted 16.04 beta. Be default the rpc-statd service is not enabled, I enabled and rebooted, same problem rpcbind does not start and neither does the nis service. If I manualy start with systemctl start rpc-statd then rpcbind and rpcbind.statd start. If I systemctl start nis it does not start, I have to first stop withs ystemctl stop nis and then do a start. [Bug 1528251] Re: WARNING: no suitable primes in /etc/ssh/primes
looking at openssh source code: #define _PATH_DH_MODULI SSHDIR "/moduli" /* Backwards compatibility */ #define _PATH_DH_PRIMES SSHDIR "/primes" both paths are defined, with primes being a legacy/compat one. Ubuntu only uses the current default /moduli path. These are documented in ssh-keygen, you can see this manpage over here too http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/xenial/en/man1/ssh- keygen.1.html#contenttoc3 Note, openssh supports and can be forced to use more combinations on client <-> server than available in the moduli, hence the caveat as per manpage. If one needs moduli beyond what's available in /moduli path, one may need to generate extra ones. Nonetheless, please provide information as to how to reproduce this error ssh client in use, ssh server in use, and version details of both client and server. Ideally including architecture and exact package version numbers. The combined metadata on this bug report is inconsistent, and I'm failing to reproduce the described errors. ** Changed in: openssh (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1528251 Title: WARNING: no suitable primes in /etc/ssh/primes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1528251/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I think the only place it landed was in Immunix 7.3 on openssh 3.8 (this is pre-apparmor being know as subdomain at the time) The patch would have to be reworked to work with apparmor, and that isn't even taking into account -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1501966 Title: support changing Apparmor hats To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1501966/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1349949] Re: Juju's mongodb does not need to log every command in syslog
Note that in a customer site with HA=3 and ~100 machines we are seeing syslog grow to around 3.6GB before it gets rotated (presumably daily?). Which means that we end up consuming 7.2GB just before the second rotation, and most of it is going to be these fairly useless logging output. I believe we can filter out some of these messages. Ideally with a way to turn that filtering off quickly in case you really do want to debug authentication issues. Also, it would be good to know why we are authenticating so often. [Bug 1215617] Re: Should not stop if there are active clients
You can however minimise the downtime: Currently this happens: prerm libvirt-bin - stop libvirt ... upgrade hundreds of packages ... postinst libvirt-bin - start libvirt However using --restart-after-upgrade option should be feasible: -R, --restart-after-upgrade Do not stop the init script until after the package upgrade has been completed. This is different than the default behavior, which stops the script in the prerm, and starts it again in the postinst. This can be useful for daemons that should not have a possibly long downtime during upgrade. But you should make sure that the daemon will not get confused by the package being upgraded while it's running before using this option. Reverted to an earlier snapshot of the virtual machine I was testing amavisd on, then installed the latest Debian package of amavisd-new (version 2.10.1-1) and can confirm that this works. Could this be a candidate for a backport release? [Bug 1316293] Re: unable to start
Yes, I also have a few error messages containing amavis[1533]: nss- ldap: do_open: do_start_tls failed:stat=-1. Removing ssl start_tls from /etc/ldap.conf allows amavis to start. So the problem looks to be when amavis checking libnss when it is set to use LDAP with STARTTLS. The TLS certificates used by the LDAP server are signed by the company CA which is set in the tls_cacertfile option in /etc/ldap.conf. They work fine when using getent password and other commands. The same certificates also work fine in Ubuntu 12.04. Setting libnss to not check certificate by adding tls_checkpeer no to /etc/ldap.conf to not change behaviour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to amavisd-new in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316293 Title: unable to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amavisd-new/+bug/1316293/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1316293] Re: unable to start
I have meet this problem with email servers that have been upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) to Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty). Amavis starts at boot and with the debug option, but fails to start via the init script or the command line ('sudo -u amavis strace /usr/sbin/amavisd-new start'). I have done some basic debugging and testing with different configurations: 1) Installing amavisd-new and spamassassin on clean install of Ubuntu 14.04, then enabling virus and spam check with: @bypass_virus_checks_maps = ( \%bypass_virus_checks, \@bypass_virus_checks_acl, \$bypass_virus_checks_re); @bypass_spam_checks_maps = ( \%bypass_spam_checks, \@bypass_spam_checks_acl, \$bypass_spam_checks_re); Allows amavis to be started and restarted cleanly. 2) Copying this configuration files in /etc/amavis/ to a machine that is effected by this bug does not fix the problem, so I conclude that the problem is not with the configuration files. 3) Purging and reinstalling the amavisd-new and spamassassin packages on an effected machines does not fix the problem. 4) On a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 (where amavisd was working) I installed and configured the machine to be similar to the machine where amavisd was not working. At each stage I checked that amavisd could be restarted via the init script. After I installed and configured the slapd LDAP server and configured libnss and libpam to use it, then amavisd failed to restart. When slapd was stopped then amavisd could started, but if it slapd was running that amavisd will not start via the init script. Amavisd seems to run fine if it started before slapd. This was then also tested and confirmed on the original machine that had been upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04. So this suggests that something in LDAP, PAM or NSS is causing amavis to fail to start. This is very odd because all the system accounts are in the local /etc/passwd and /etc/group files and should have nothing to do with LDAP users and groups. The amavis user is only a member of it's own amavis group, and the amavis group only contains the amavis and clamav users. The LDAP configuration has 4 users and 19 groups created by the smbldap programs, and all of these are used by end-users and should not be used by the amavis user or group. PAM is managed by the pam-auth-update system with LDAP configuration enabled: START $ grep -ir ldap /etc/pam.d/* /etc/pam.d/common-account:account [success=1 default=ignore] pam_ldap.so /etc/pam.d/common-auth:# (e.g., /etc/shadow, LDAP, Kerberos, etc.). The default is to use the /etc/pam.d/common-auth:auth [success=1 default=ignore] pam_ldap.so use_first_pass /etc/pam.d/common-password:password [success=1 user_unknown=ignore default=die] pam_ldap.so use_authtok try_first_pass /etc/pam.d/common-session:session optional pam_ldap.so /etc/pam.d/common-session-noninteractive:sessionoptional pam_ldap.so END Contents of /etc/nsswitch.conf: START passwd: compat ldap group: compat ldap shadow: compat ldap hosts: files dns networks: files protocols: db files services: db files ethers: db files rpc:db files netgroup: nis END I wonder if any of the other people who have met this bug are using any other PAM or NSS beyond the basic local /etc/passwd and /etc/group files?
