[Bug 349913] Re: sftp: cannot enter umlauts like ä, ö, ü

2015-12-01 Thread Ken Sharp
With 1:6.6p1-2ubuntu2.3 (Trusty) the alt-tab completion works, but the
character isn't echoed back.

sftp> get nave
Fetching /tmp/naïve to naïve

Attempts to enter a character (AltGr+a for æ or AltGr+[+i for ï, for
example) simply results in an error beep, which is new but thoroughly
useless and a step backwards.

[Bug 1271531] [NEW] Specifying cgset -r multiple times fails

2014-01-22 Thread Ken Sharp
Public bug reported:

From the man page:

-r name=value
  defines name of the file to set and the value which should be
written to that file. This parameter can
  be used multiple times.

However:

$ cgset -r cpu.cfs_quota_us=1 -r cpu.cfs_period_us=5 gomez
controller cpu can't be add

...it fails.

Seems to work with memory.* for some reason. Checking with cgget
confirms that the values have not been set.

This works fine:
$ cgset -r cpu.cfs_period_us=5 gomez
$ cgset -r cpu.cfs_quota_us=1  gomez

I imagine there's a status page for Ubuntu somewhere showing packaging
problems but I wouldn't know where to look for that.

[Bug 1256546] Re: qemu-s390x-static: segmentation fault entering chroot

2014-01-15 Thread Ken Sharp
Version: 1.5.0+dfsg-3ubuntu5.2

This doesn't occur in version 1.5.0 in Saucy. Regression?

The second stage fails anyway because it claims it cannot find
/debootstrap/debootstrap which is similar to other open bugs, but there
is no segfault.

[Bug 1259939] [NEW] ssh -g has no effect if master socket already open

2013-12-11 Thread Ken Sharp
Public bug reported:

From the man page:
 -g Allows remote hosts to connect to local forwarded ports.

When working with a control socket, this works fine if -g is included
with the initial connect attempt, for example:

$ cat ~/.ssh/config
Host *
ControlMaster   auto
ControlPath ~/.ssh/%r@%h:%p

$ ssh -gTfNL 12345:localhost:12345 host
$ netstat -tln

tcp0  0 0.0.0.0:12345 0.0.0.0:*
LISTEN  -

$ lsof -n

ssh   182446user3u IPv4   76397177   0t0
TCP 192.168.0.9:51181-192.168.0.15:ssh (ESTABLISHED)
ssh   182446user4u IPv4   76397181   0t0
TCP *:3128 (LISTEN)
ssh   182446user5u IPv6   76397182   0t0
TCP *:3128 (LISTEN)

and similarly:

$ ssh -g host
user@host:~$ exit
$ ssh -gTfNL 12345:localhost:12345 host
$ netstat -tln

tcp0  0 0.0.0.0:12345 0.0.0.0:*
LISTEN  -

However, if it isn't then -g is ignored on subsequent attempts to
forward ports:

$ ssh host
user@host:~$ exit
$ ssh -g -L 12345:localhost:12345 host
$ netstat -tln

tcp0  0 127.0.0.1:12345 0.0.0.0:*
LISTEN  -

$ lsof -n

ssh   182399user3u IPv4   76390396   0t0
TCP 192.168.0.9:51178-192.168.0.15:ssh (ESTABLISHED)
ssh   182399user4u unix 0x   0t0
76390976 /home/user/.ssh/user@host
ssh   182399user6u IPv6   76392394   0t0
TCP [::1]:3128 (LISTEN)
ssh   182399user7u IPv4   76392395   0t0
TCP 127.0.0.1:3128 (LISTEN)

This doesn't really make sense: ssh should still be capable of binding
to the correct address as requested.

[Bug 349913] Re: sftp: cannot enter umlauts like ä, ö, ü

2013-12-10 Thread Ken Sharp
Version: 1:5.9p1-5ubuntu1.1

Still present.

Still cannot enter characters but using tab to auto-complete will work
so long as the file does not begin with a foreign character:

sftp get caf\303\251
Fetching /tmp/café to café
sftp get na\303\257ve
Fetching /tmp/naïve to naïve
sftp get anasth\303\246sia
Fetching /tmp/anasthæsia to anasthæsia

Sadly entering the \303\246ether for æther doesn't work.

[Bug 1254736] Re: qemu-ppc-static assertion failure running second stage of debootstrap

2013-11-25 Thread Ken Sharp
ubuntu-bug automatically chooses qemu-linaro but I think this should
probably be assigned to qemu.

** Package changed: qemu-linaro (Ubuntu) = qemu (Ubuntu)

2012-11-03 Thread Ken Sharp

If pm-hibernate is ran on an OpenSSH server machine, the ssh client app

[Bug 1074798] [NEW] ssh-copy-id cannot handle spaces in usernames

2012-11-03 Thread Ken Sharp
Public bug reported:

If a username has a space in it, ssh-copy-id cannot handle it, unless
it's in a non-obvious way. ssh itself has no problem with spaces.
