[Bug 1564187] [NEW] issue with conditional in postinst

2016-03-30 Thread Logan Rosen
Public bug reported:

I received the following message when upgrading cloud-init in Ubuntu Xenial:
/var/lib/dpkg/info/cloud-init.postinst: 206:
/var/lib/dpkg/info/cloud-init.postinst: -f: not found

I looked at the script, and there appear to be missing brackets around the
test. Specifically, line 206 should probably read:
if [ ! -f /var/lib/cloud/instance/obj.pkl ]; then

[Bug 1400220] [NEW] Sync python-setuptools-git 1.1-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2014-12-07 Thread Logan Rosen
Public bug reported:

Please sync python-setuptools-git 1.1-1 (main) from Debian unstable
(main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * Temporarily disable tests.
The tests are run in Debian, but them failing does not cause the package to
FTBFS (although those failing tests should be looked into). No other relevant
Ubuntu changes.

Changelog entries since current vivid version 1.0b1-0ubuntu3:

python-setuptools-git (1.1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
  * Update Standards-Version to 3.9.5 and debhelper level to 9.

[Bug 1318246] Re: Sync libibverbs 1.1.8-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2014-05-13 Thread Logan Rosen
No, I know that it still creates the rdma group in this package. What
I'm referring to is the reason why we removed this in the postinst in
the first place, which itself referred to what was done in Bug 256216.
There was a delta in Ubuntu's udev (now systemd) regarding the rdma
group, but that's no longer present, so we can safely create the group
here now, I believe.

Public bug reported:

Please sync libibverbs 1.1.8-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * debian/libibverbs1.postinst: Remove creation of rdma group (since Ubuntu
uses 0666 udev rules; see bug 256216)
  * Update config.{guess,sub}.
The config.{guess,sub} files were updated in the new upstream release, and I
can't find any reference to "rdma" in the systemd source package in Utopic, so
that delta is likely no longer necessary.

Changelog entries since current utopic version 1.1.7-1ubuntu1:

libibverbs (1.1.8-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
- XRC support
- Flow steering support
- Generic infrastructure for further "verbs extensions"
  * Update to Standards-Version: 3.9.5.

[Bug 1225783] [NEW] Sync alembic 0.4.2+ds-3.1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-09-15 Thread Logan Rosen
Public bug reported:

Please sync alembic 0.4.2+ds-3.1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * Drop build depends and suggests on python2.6-argparse as we don't have
python 2.6 anymore (This was also done as 0.4.2+ds-2.1 but seems to have
been accidentally dropped)
- update debian/control
This was fixed in Debian.

Changelog entries since current saucy version 0.4.2+ds-3ubuntu1:

alembic (0.4.2+ds-3.1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Restore changes from 0.4.2+ds-2.1 that were dropped in -3 (closes: #715429).

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on EC2 VM instances from
Amazon Web Services, using a clean, minimal and up-to-date chroot. Every
failed build was retried once to eliminate random failures.

[Bug 1153022] [NEW] Sync mtx 1.3.12-6 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-03-09 Thread Logan Rosen
Public bug reported:

Please sync mtx 1.3.12-6 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
After looking at a diff between Ubuntu and Debian, it appears that the only
relevant change is a difference in the wording of the description of the
package, which isn't even mentioned in the changelog as part of the delta
(strangely, the only thing that is constantly mentioned is the change in
maintainer, which shouldn't even be relevant). It will definitely be safe to
drop the delta.

Changelog entries since current raring version 1.3.12-4ubuntu2:

mtx (1.3.12-6) unstable; urgency=low

  * Adopt this package. Closes: #701030

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Raring Ringtail.

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in

[Bug 1073159] Re: Please backport tomcat7 7.0.30-0ubuntu1 (main) from raring

2012-10-30 Thread Logan Rosen
** Summary changed:

- tomcat7 7.0.30 (or newer) should be backported to precise
+ Please backport tomcat7 7.0.30-0ubuntu1 (main) from raring

** Description changed:

+ Please backport tomcat7 7.0.30-0ubuntu1 (main) from raring to precise.
+
+ Reason for the backport:
+
  Currently tomcat7 on precise is 7.0.26
  quantal an roaring providing 7.0.30

  In my opinion it would be good to have the most current tomcat7 version also
in precise-backports.
  The goal should be providing the latest tomcat7 stable release also via
backports in the LTS release of ubuntu.

  The number of fixes is still impressing :-)

+ Testing:

+ Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the
checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.

+ You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:

of tomcat7. For reverse-build-dependencies (-Indep), please test that the
package still builds against the new tomcat7. For reverse-dependencies, please
test that the version of the package currently in the release still works with
the new tomcat7 installed. Reverse- Recommends, Suggests, and Enhances don't

2012-09-21 Thread Logan Rosen
Public bug reported:

Please sync augeas 0.10.0-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * Add a Depends on libxml2-dev for libaugeas-dev, since it is required by
the pcfile. (LP: #940172)
  * Add LP838010_sudoers.patch to (LP: #838010).
  * Pull patches from upstream:
 - libxml2_onechar_path.patch
 - mdadm_debian_path.patch
 - pkg-config_require_libxml2.patch
  * Update Ubuntu maintainer as per XSBC-Original-Maintainer policy.
  * New upstream release
  * Add libxml2-dev and pkg-config to Build-Depends.
  * Deactivate obsolete test-readlink-errno.patch patch.
  * Update debian/libaugeas0.symbols to match upstream changes.
All Ubuntu changes were integrated into the Debian packaging.

Changelog entries since current quantal version 0.10.0-0ubuntu4:

augeas (0.10.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * Pull packaging changes from Ubuntu (see the changelog)
  * Pull packaging changes from Igor Pashev's package at mentors.d.o:
- Update maintainer's email
- Add upstream sudoers.patch (Closes: #650079)
- Add upstream debctl.patch (Closes: #650887)
- Add upstream modprobe.patch (Closes: #641813)
- Add cpp-linkage.patch for C++ linkage
- Add gnulib-build-out-of-source.patch for building out of source tree
- Add regexp-escape.patch for escape() usage on systems without uselocale()
* Fix build-deps on naturaldocs (build-depends-on-1-revision)

[Bug 1048344] Re: rrdcached installaion fails due to segfault running initscript

2012-09-09 Thread Logan Rosen
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed
in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Quantal Quetzal.

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in
previous versions of Ubuntu, please do steps 1 and 2 of the SRU
Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's attention.
