[Bug 1439988] Re: package init-system-helpers 1.22ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/lib/init/apparmor-profile-load', which is also in package upstart-bin 1.13.2-0ubuntu9

2015-04-06 Thread Michael Bienia
Happened to me too when I updated my vivid system after a few weeks
again.

I still have upstart-bin (1.13.2-0ubuntu9) from before the transition to
upstart installed and tried to upgrade it.

init-system-helpers has a Replaces/Breaks on the transitioned upstart
package but not on the upstart-bin from before the transition. Trying to
upgrade upstart-bin first doesn't work as this pulls init-system-helpers
too and apt tries to upgrade init-system-helpers before upstart-bin.

init-system-helpers should also get a Replaces/Breaks on the old
upstart-bin package. I assume upgrades from utopic (which have upstart-
bin with files) to vivid are also affected by this.

[Bug 1320612] [NEW] Merge python-babel 1.3+dfsg.1-3

2014-05-18 Thread Michael Bienia
Public bug reported:

python-babel (1.3+dfsg.1-3ubuntu1) utopic; urgency=low

python-babel (1.3+dfsg.1-3) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Uses an embedded copy of dir_to_symlink() from dpkg-maintscript-helper to
allow easier backports to Wheezy (since there's no dpkg backport with that
function in Wheezy).
  * Adds the use of six for unicode strings to allow easier backports to
Python 3.2.
  * Version build-depends on python-pytest and python3-pytest.
  * Runs the unit test on build (Closes: #727616).
  * Removes sphinx.ext.intersphinx from docs/conf.py to avoid network access
during the build.

[Bug 1272196] [NEW] vmhgfs doesn't work with linux 3.13 kernel

2014-01-23 Thread Michael Bienia
Public bug reported:

I'm using current trusty in a VMware image and with linux 3.13 the
vmhgfs module doesn't work anymore. I use it to easily exchange files
between my Windows desktop and the VM.

$ uname -a
Linux ubuntu 3.13.0-5-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jan 20 19:56:38 UTC 2014
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
$ sudo modprobe vmhgfs
$ sudo mount /mnt/hgfs/
$ ls /mnt/hgfs/
ls: cannot access /mnt/hgfs/: Not a directory
$ ls -l /mnt
total 3
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 4192 Jan 24 08:27 hgfs

Before the mounting or after unmounting /mnt/hgfs I can access that
directory without problems.

Folder sharing is enabled in the VM settings and works when I boot a
linux 3.12 kernel (linux-image-3.12.0-7-generic).

2013-12-18 Thread Michael Bienia
Here is a patch I use to compile the open-vm-tools modules on trusty
(linux 3.12). It's a mix of a patch I found on the internet [0] and some
changes for uid_t - kuid_t and gid_t - kgid_t based on information I
found in the linux headers. So it would be good if someone familiar with
the kernel took a look on this patch.

I mostly use the vmhgfs module to mount the shared folders from VMWare
and didn't have an problems with this patch yet.

[Bug 715818] [NEW] ec2-api-tools FTBFS in natty

2011-02-09 Thread Michael Bienia
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ec2-api-tools

ec2-api-tools currently FTBFS in natty.

Build log: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/58997381/ec2-api-
tools_1.3.57419-0ubuntu1_1.3.57419-0ubuntu2.diff.gz

The first issue is simply fixed by exchanging the order of the JRE in
(build-)dependency so that a non-virtual package is listed first.

The next issue I had was that RUNENV (in debian/rules) seemed to be
emtpy when generating the manpages. I'm not a expert in Makefiles but
removing the $( and ) seems to work better.

The next issue was that the script in ./bin aren't executable (fixed by
making manpages depend on grantx).

The issue I'm currently stuck at is:

p=man/ec2-version.usage; p=${p%.usage}; p=${p#man/}; PATH=$PWD/bin:$PATH
EC2_HOME=$PWD $p --help  man/ec2-version.usage || { [ $? -eq 1 ] || exit 1; }

[Bug 550278] [NEW] php5-dev is missing a dependency on libpcre3-dev

2010-03-28 Thread Michael Bienia
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: php5

php5-dev should depend on libpcre3-dev as
/usr/include/php5/ext/pcre/php_pcre.h includes pcre.h.

This fixes the FTBFS of php-imap in universe:

In file included from /build/buildd/php-imap-5.3.2/build-php5/php_imap.c:44:
/usr/include/php5/ext/pcre/php_pcre.h:29:18: error: pcre.h: No such file or
directory

[Bug 426769] [NEW] mysql-{common, client, server} still (also) build from mysql-dfsg-5.0

2009-09-09 Thread Michael Bienia
Public bug reported:

mysql-{common,client,server} are currently build from mysql-dfsg-5.0 and
mysql-dfsg-5.1. This leads to the following upload error for the recent
mysql-dfsg-5.0 upload in karmic:

2009-09-09 00:38:50 WARNING Upload was rejected:
2009-09-09 00:38:50 WARNING
mysql-common_5.1.30really5.0.83-0ubuntu2_all.deb: Version older than that in
the archive. 5.1.30really5.0.83-0ubuntu2 = 5.1.37-1ubuntu4
2009-09-09 00:38:50 WARNING
mysql-server_5.1.30really5.0.83-0ubuntu2_all.deb: Version older than that in
the archive. 5.1.30really5.0.83-0ubuntu2 = 5.1.37-1ubuntu4

the archive. 5.1.30really5.0.83-0ubuntu2 = 5.1.37-1ubuntu4

From the description of those packages I assume they should only be
build from mysql-dfsg-5.1 and dropped from mysql-dfsg-5.0.

[Bug 230016] Re: [intrepid] Rebuild with perl 5.10

2008-06-01 Thread Michael Bienia
The irssi rebuild on i386 was caught in CHROOTWAIT and was given-back
one hour ago. It should hit the archive soon.

The perl packages you mentioned are in hardy:
libperl5.8 (not libperl5.0) is a real package and perlapi-5.8.8 is a virtual
one provided by perl-base.
