[Bug 800430] [NEW] smbtorture triggers 'panic action' script
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba I discovered that smbtorture triggers the 'panic action' script on my samba server. smbtorture worked without problems on 10.10. I used smbtorture to go after a problem I have with seahorse on cifs shares (also worked well on 10.10). Please see bug 800147 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/seahorse-plugins/+bug/800147). The samba server is running as a kvm domain on a ubuntu 10.10 host. Both have all updates installed. [Bug 662435] Re: megatec_usb driver stopped working after upgrade from 8.04 to 10.04
I tested the shutdown behaviour and it works as expected. The UPS disconnected the load and then came back on again after power returned (waiting the defined delay). I also attached the blazer_usb output in case this is needed. If there are other testes required to improve the driver I am happy to do this (maybe read out the remaining battery capacity?). [Bug 662435] Re: megatec_usb driver stopped working after upgrade from 8.04 to 10.04
It works now! I reinstalled 2.4.3 and checked the blazer_usb driver again. First I thought it did not work but then discovered a configuration error: When changing from megatec to blazer, the value for offdelay needs to be changed. In megatec it is minutes and in blazer it is seconds. As it does not allow a value smaller than 6, the blazer_usb refused to work (it was 1 in megatec). Thanks a lot to Arnaud for the quick reply! Here is my new ups.conf now: [ups01] driver= blazer_usb port = auto vendorid = 0665 productid = 5161 # after shutdown, wait 5 minutes after return of power ondelay = 5 # wait 1 minute after power-off command before cutting power offdelay = 60 ** Changed in: nut (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Fix Released -- megatec_usb driver stopped working after upgrade from 8.04 to 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662435 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nut in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 478649] [NEW] Files named cifsxxxx (x is various numbers) suddenly appear in many directories of cif mounts
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba I using my set-up with samba shares for 2-3 years and have never noticed this before. I assume it started just some weeks or months ago. I am using the following mount options on my Ubuntu 9.10 machine (the problem was already on 9.04, as I just upgraded a few days ago) mount.cifs .. -o domain=mydomain,credentials=/home/$USER/.smbcredentials,nobrl,iocharset=utf8 The samba server is running on a Debian 5.0 xen-DomU with samba version 3.2.5. The xen-Dom0 is Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Linux xen-samba 2.6.24-24-xen #1 SMP Tue Aug 18 18:15:39 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux). I have not found any file corruptions on the shares yet. So I guess the cifs files are some sort of temp files. They do not do any harm except looking ugly and eating up filespace.
