[Bug 511245] Re: portmap is not started during boot process before autofs and hence autofs does not work properly

2010-03-17 Thread Ralph Janke
Since portmap is now started by upstart, it makes more sense to port
autofs over to upstart too and trigger the start on the event of portmap
being started.

[Bug 511245] [NEW] portmap is not started during boot process before autofs and hence autofs does not work properly

2010-01-22 Thread Ralph Janke
Public bug reported:

Problem:

autofs is used to automatically mount filesystems via nfs (including the
home directories of users). During the boot process autofs is started
but does not work, hence the login into the Desktop fails since it tries
to access the user directory.

In order to fix the problem, a console must be opened and then portmap
be started, and autofs restarted. After this the user can login without
any problems.

Expected Behaviour:

The boot-up process should allow autofs work probably with nfs without
any manual intervention

[Bug 274939] Re: 8<=8 => false

2008-09-28 Thread Ralph Janke
Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.

This is not a bug, but a rounding error that is very usual in such
calculations, as you can easily see when you use intval() on the
variable $high_display_limit. The easiest way to get around this issue
is to use the function round() to eliminate the rounding error. This
works in this case since you only expect integers. In other cases you
might need to use other methods including using the < comparator instead
of <=. However, this is a common problem with floating-point calculation
that every programmer should be aware of.

Thanks again for your report.

If you look at debian /control in the sources of the samba package, that

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make ubuntu better.

Since the apache package is not part of the ubuntu distribution since
gutsy, but has been superseeded by apache2, this should be assigned to
the apache2 package.

[Bug 137526] Re: In Apache2 template site use rather than

2008-03-27 Thread Ralph Janke
Thank you for your suggestion. However, the changes you are requesting
aren't really a bug and require more discussion, which should be done on
an appropriate mailing list or forum.
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists might be a good
start for determining which mailing list to use.

It seems this suggestion has two sides. On one hand, if the changes will
be made, it is easier to add the ssl option. On the other hand, if the
changes are made, and someone adds another port to which apache is
listening, or changes the port, the default site does not capture those.

Thanks

[Bug 205608] Re: libapache2-mod-php5 can't be configured

2008-03-23 Thread Ralph Janke
Thanks for reporting this problem and helping to make Ubuntu better.

I am not sure which version you use. I tried to install the package in
question installed well on the lastest hardy release. However, the
package version is 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.

Please provide more information about the which ubuntu release you are
referring to.

Thanks.
