[Bug 1484268] Re: MAAS not auto-detecting/auto-entering credentials for HP Proliant ML310E G8 V2 server

2016-01-25 Thread Rod Smith
The bug may or may not still exist, but I've been unable to reproduce it
since deleting and re-creating the "maas" user on the affected system,
as noted in comment #3, above.

[Bug 1527974] Re: package gdisk 0.8.8-1ubuntu0.1 failed to install/upgrade: intentando sobreescribir `/usr/share/man/man8/fixparts.8.gz', que está también en el paquete fixparts 1.0.1-1

2015-12-21 Thread Rod Smith
This is a conflict between the Ubuntu-provided gdisk 0.8.8 package and
the upstream-provided fixparts-1.0.1 package. Upstream (that's me)
provides separate gdisk and fixparts packages, whereas Ubuntu provides a
single gdisk package that includes both gdisk and fixparts binaries.

To overcome the error, either install the upstream gdisk 1.0.1 package
or delete the upstream fixparts 1.0.1 package and re-install Ubuntu's
gdisk 0.8.8.

FWIW, this is fixed upstream (in GPT fdisk 1.0.1), and bug 1514400 now
requests an update to that version.

[Bug 991311] Re: error witin installation gdisk package

2015-10-19 Thread Rod Smith
The upstream GPT fdisk project provides separate "gdisk" (containing
gdisk, cgdisk, and sgdisk binaries) and "fixparts" (containing the
fixparts binary) packages, since FixParts is intended to manipulate MBR
partition tables and the other binaries work on GPT disks. The Ubuntu
"gdisk" package, however, holds the fixparts binary. It appears that
martin installed the upstream packages (or packages built by somebody
else along similar lines) and then attempted to upgrade using the Ubuntu
package.

2014-04-29 Thread rod
Hi Ryan,

Sorry I missed your email.

Things were blocking and I really had to move forward.
I therefore opted for an fresh install.
Everything went well, obviously.

But this means that we'll probably never know the origin of the problem
I encountered.

You spent some of your time providing me help and trying to figure out
what happened and I am very grateful to you: many thanks!

Best regards,

Rod

Any way to make sure the upgrade succeeded? I repeatedly did get an

Anyway, doesn't seem critical so far.
