@Jamie, could you try the qemu-kvm package in ppa:ubuntu-virt/virt-daily- upstream? This seems to be working for me. Using qemu upstream git head seems to fix the bug. Nothing in git log stands out ot me. Will be trying to bisect to figure out where the bug was introduced. This becomes time-consuming as (a) qemu is not alwyas-buildable, (b) bug is not 100% reproducible, and (c) there is a large # commits to test.
