Public bug reported:

I just setup a new ubuntu server 8.04 LTS as a LAMP server in our
production environment. Earlier we have been using Debian for our
production servers. In the testing phase i found out that with a
standard installation of 8.04 server with all the updates as of this
date this bug hasen't been fixed.

The problem is that when somone tries to download a file (example: PDF,
FLV) its either VERY slow or the user isen't able to download the file
at all. I googled the solution and found out that when i tell apache to
not use sendfile (EnableSendfile Off) it works great. This is a problem
since this is set to On as default.

I searched for other bugs related to this problem and found one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/95393/ but im
reposting since that is specific to a live-cd and this is a plain normal
install.

Here is the printout from uname -a
Linux prod 2.6.24-23-server #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 22:14:30 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
