[Bug 428813] Re: package slapd 2.4.15-1ubuntu3 failed to install : subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
We'd like to figure out what's causing this bug for you, but we haven't heard back from you in a while. Could you please to purge the slapd package and report whether it fixed your issue? Thanks! -- package slapd 2.4.15-1ubuntu3 failed to install : subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/428813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Do this test, exec this command: slapd -d 1 and search in the last lines if you have this error: bdb(dc=YOUR,dc=DOMAIN,dc=net): mmap: Invalid argument Because i had the same error of you... and i found that my kernel is not compiled with mmaping (had the same error on standard rrdtool from repositories) If you have this error, you can do 2 things: - compile openldap from source, disabling mmap - install an mmap enabled kernel Hope this help you. -- package slapd 2.4.15-1ubuntu3 failed to install : subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/428813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

As Adam mentioned, /etc/ldap/slapd.d/ has been manually deleted. The slapd package needs to be purged, not just removed and then reinstalled in order to be restore /etc/ldap/slapd.d/ ** Changed in: openldap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: openldap (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- package slapd 2.4.15-1ubuntu3 failed to install : subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/428813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 428813] Re: package slapd 2.4.15-1ubuntu3 failed to install : subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Hello, Thanks for reporting this bug, and helping make Ubuntu better. Is this issue still a problem for you? According to the DpkgTerminalLog: No configuration directory was found for slapd at /etc/ldap/slapd.d/ apt-get is looking for /etc/ldap/slapd.d, and since you removed it by hand you'll probably need to recreate it for the script to work correctly. Can you recreate the directory, then retry the installation?
