According to the dpkg terminal log the mysql server wasn't able to be stopped: * Stopping MySQL database server mysqld [80G [74G[[31mfail[39;49m] invoke-rc.d: initscript mysql, action stop failed. invoke-rc.d returned 1 There is a MySQL server running, but we failed in our attempts to stop it. Stop it yourself and try again! Could you post the content of /var/log/daemon.log around the time of the upgrade? Was the mysql server running before starting the upgrade?
