Hi Peter, can you try manually *installing* the package, if you haven't cleared apt's cache, then you can do dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/mysql- server-5.1_5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3_i386.deb Otherwise, download it with wget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/m/mysql-dfsg-5.1/mysql- server-5.1_5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3_i386.deb Then dpkg -i mysql-server-5.1_5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3_i386.deb It should replace all of its files, and then allow upgrading/removing. Marking Incomplete, you can change it back to New if that doesn't work for you.
