I've never done this before, so I hope I'm using the forum correctly. I have the same scenario Chris, but I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10. Now I'm not able to install any other packages as this failed installation is retried with every other install I do. Was there an update to the bacula-director-mysql package to correct this? That is your problem. It is already reported as bug #583044 ("Looks like
you have an error in your /etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf that prevents it
from starting up. If you can't fix that, I'd suggest you purge the
existing configuration completely (sudo apt-get purge bacula-director-
common bacula-director-mysql) and reinstall.")
