[Bug 806911] Re: Split nova-compute into nova-compute-{kvm,xen,etc.}
Sounds like something we should track using a blueprint... Would that allow to run different hypervisors in parallel ? If not, what is the rationale ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/806911 Title: Split nova-compute into nova-compute-{kvm,xen,etc.} To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/806911/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 806911] Re: Split nova-compute into nova-compute-{kvm,xen,etc.}
Thierry, Is the question would you run KVM and Xen at the same time on the same box? Would we want to support this configuration? We can work with Soren on the XenServer requirements.
[Bug 806911] Re: Split nova-compute into nova-compute-{kvm,xen,etc.}
No, my question was about running different types of compute nodes to offer different types of virtualization for users (for example running a KVM node and an LXC node, and be able to request instances of one or the other from the API). But rereading the bug description, I think that's unrelated... but rather a packaging improvement to make sure we don't have crazy depends on a generic compute node.
