RE: [Bug 810731] Re: MySQL Server installation crashed, now unable to remove MySQL server and Client Binaries
After doing the update from the command line I still cannot remove or install MySQL server or the client binaries. After each attempt I am still getting the message that the software index needs to be rebuilt. I do the rebuild only to get the same result. Could you try the following on a terminal: sudo apt-get update And tell us if the problem continues after that? If it fixes the problem, then I'd next like to look at your /var/log/apt/term.log and /var/log/dpkg.log of clues as to what went wrong originally. ** Also affects: software-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete ** Changed in: mysql-5.1 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete ** Changed in: mysql-5.1 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/810731 Title: MySQL Server installation crashed, now unable to remove MySQL server and Client Binaries Status in “mysql-5.1” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Software Center keeps reporting the software index keeps needing to be rebuilt.
