Public bug reported: There's an interesting feature called find_multipaths that was first mentioned here on dm-devel in July 2011.
https://www.redhat.com/archives/dm-devel/2011-July/msg00102.html It's now the corner stone of dm multipath configuration in the RHEL 6 DM Multipath configuration guide https://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/DM_Multipath/config_file_blacklist.html What it basically allows is autoprobing of devices to safely enable multpath on luns that satisfy the proper criteria. It has the power to reduce a multipath.conf configuration to a single line. Alas it doesn't exist in the upstream sources, only as a patch in RH's multipath package 0021-RHBZ-558636-add-find-multipaths.patch This bug exists to track the status of this feature and it's ultimate integration into upstream or into our multipath-tools package. ** Affects: multipath-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to multipath-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/956128 Title: find_multipaths feature missing from upstream To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/956128/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
