I've just successfully installed the samba4 package. There were a lot of
warnings about unknown parameters. Presumably Samba 4 objecting to Samba
3 syntax in smb.conf or is there another cause?

2011-05-16 Thread Harris Butler
I reinstalled Natty as a fresh install for various reasons, and it has
worked fine for me since. I presume it was an issue with my configuration
file but I don't know for sure. Anyways, it's been working fine since I did
the fresh install, but it was giving me problems when I had Natty on as an
upgrade.

   Incomplete

 Bug description:
  Binary package hint: samba

Keeps complaining the samba has failed to install/upgrade properly. I
reinstalled samba from scratch and the problem disappeared. It again
showed up when i installed the update on the next day. Even though it
says it failed to install, it seems to me that I can connect to my
ubuntu folders from windows machines. Weirdly, the mapped drive in
windows appears in red (even after refreshing) although I can connect
to the mapped drive. Seems samba is messed up with 11.04?
