[Bug 250260] [NEW] Strange sound behavior in imported clips
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: kino When importing ANY video clips into Kino, the first 2 min 41 sec sound is completely wiped out, replaced by noises resembling a helicopter. After 2 min 41 sec the sound becomes perfect. Reinstalling Kino, including Kino 1.3 didn't solve the problem. DBUS ( http://dbus.freedesktop.org/doc/dbus-tutorial.html#whatis ), IIRC, should be the new standard way to disable the screensaver in programs such as this.
