Thanks for the nice words and the feedback. Yes, I agree that the HOME menu entry is redundant. Once I get the breadcrumbs properly setup and working for each content type (pages, news, blog, forum, etc.) then I will remove it. With regards to the alignment to grid, I have it in mind, but I am still moving things around, so fine adjustments will come later. That being said, I do have a tendency to "break the rules" for the sake of playfulness and visual liveliness, so don't be surprised if not everything is meticulously aligned. :) By the way, I worked a bit on the front page slider today; here is a screenshot: https://picasaweb.google.com/jorge.g.mare/UbuntuStudioArtwork#5595645470727783042 I am still not totally happy with the visuals, but the under the hood stuff (templates and CSS) are more or less in place, so it's another small step forward. I will be busy the next several days, so things are going to stall a bit, but I will pick up again next week. If possible, I would like to put the site online on a staging URL for you guys to play with towards the end of next week. We'll see if I can. There are a few things that you may still be working on, but I thought I would give my 2 cents. The main elements of page adhere to a pretty good grid system (the green lines in the link below). There are some things that don't really follow the grid that you are beginning to establish (red lines). It seems that perhaps these elements are part of the 'main content' or something like that, and that they are structured more like a directory tree - great for viewing files - but somewhat breaking from your design grid. Overall, I think that your font choices are doing their jobs - I can tell that 'UbuntuStudio Live Recording' is the title of the article, and that the 'view edit unpublish' are navigational. However the 'Home' from the main menu and the 'home' in the content area feels a little redundant, or perhaps unclear as to what each instance does. Perhaps if you are trying to establish where the user is, you could hi-light the 'home' in the menu area? I've uploaded a screenshot with a few annotations to hopefully clarify what I mean: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/9k0EVSEZ-UoHpjegBBjN-iHR1PMKhI6HfAFTAPr0k3A?feat=directlink Thanks for all the great work you're doing! - Benjamin -- Ubuntu-Studio-devel mailing list Ubuntu-Studio-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-devel

First, I'm glad to see Cory is back. Second, I'm sorry I dropped off the face of the planet as far as website development. I have done a little bit of work since my last e-mail, but not a lot, and I think I just need to accept that I'm not going to have time to help out with Ubuntu Studio, at least not for a few months. Third, I like the designs, Jorge, and thanks for jumping in and doing all this great work. -- -Brian David -- Ubuntu-Studio-devel mailing list Ubuntu-Studio-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-devel

This is fabulous, great job! Curious though, what are your plans for the header? I feel like we've had some Ubuntu Studio logo work done before, and we could possibly resurrect that unless you have the logo under control.
