Awesome! At work at the moment (hence my sig is missing), but I can perhaps do
some stuff later and when I get home tonight.

The community portal is https://community.ubuntu.com. I posted there, and was
given a little guidance from the Xubuntu QA lead. It’s nice to have all the
flavors working together!

Re: [ubuntu-studio-devel] Saturday Meetings Update

2018-04-05 Thread Thomas Pfundt
Hi everyone,

so, since there have been no further objections, let's set our first meeting
this Saturday the 7th at 19:00 UTC.

As Len Ovens correctly notified me of, I accidentally got a little mixed up in
the American time zones. 19:00 UTC is, of course, 12:00 PDT and not 10:00. I'm
sorry for the confusion and hope that this is still fine or we can make it work
somehow this Saturday. If possible, I'd like to keep it that way and we can
directly discuss a different time for future meetings, then.

So, the actual times would be (corrected):
22:00 EEST/MSK in Helsinki, Moscow, Ankara
21:00 CEST in Stockholm, Berlin, Paris, Madrid
20:00 BST in London
19:00 UTC/GMT
15:00 EDT in New York, Toronto
12:00 PDT in Los Angeles, Vancouver

Looking forward to reading you all! :)

Please don't! If we censor ourselves for fear of saying something wrong,
perhaps we are going to miss out on something brilliant!

Of course, not everything will always work and one needs to be ready to
be contradicted and learn. But put the ideas on the table
_without discrimination_ so we can all contemplate them and pick the
best ones together. :)

Yeah, I’ve used Carla. It makes a great plugin host for live audio production,
and the patchbay is based on the same one in Catia. Probably the way to go,
especially since Carla is a separate project from Cadence. My biggest problem
with Carla as a plugin host was the inability to sync BPM across multiple
plugins (i.e. delay effects).

Either way, this is great. I can see this along with a number of other
improvements or enhancements making their way into the 18.10 release, which
could potentially position Ubuntu once again as /the/ choice for audio
production.

I love that this ball is rolling again and that we’re pushing forward for a
solid release and planning for the future. This is great!

The answer is Carla I think. It also includes a patch bay. On the other

in other news with -controls, I have noticed that udev sometimes "resets"
even pci/internal audio interfaces sometimes with the result that every
interface available gets connected as a client if possible. :) This is
really part of the same thing as being able to connect more than one USB

I also need to add autojack as a dbus service so that if it happens to not

-controls should be considered alpha just now. But it works quite well as
a proof of concept and probably well enough for someone who has a USB mic

major issues, but I noticed that the application-selection screen was missing
from the installer.

Is this some kind of bug or was it removed on purpose? I suppose it's not a
devastating issue, but I used to deselect some programs that I definitely
didn't use and missed that.

I don't find anything on launchpad, should I report this as a bug? If yes, is
it related to Ubuntu Studio or Ubiquity?

I'll do some more testing on my installation later on.
