I don't use it much but if you need more power within Openshot the advanced 
editor options pull Blender and Inkscape in as in-application options.

Openshot isn't the only video editor we include by default. We also
include Kdenlive, Blender, and Pitivi.

There may be others available in the repos.

For some uses Openshot works well enough, Kdelive and Blender are also 
included for those who need better tools. It is up to the user to choose 
the best tool for their own use.
