My experience here on collaborate for artwork.

It's good to work in a team, it's good to look for help, and tried to
make this for some time, but my experience here was not good.

Since I was new here, I waited that someone should say these are the
aesthetic guidelines of the project, these is the way we work Here
is the material for work (logo, colors... )

You were told that Intrepid's art was done and Intrepid+1 was where new
work *could* go. Intrepid+1 is *WIDE* open. There are little to no
guidelines *because* We're giving people the opportunity to create.

Nothing. Only try some wallpapers. I did. And as anyone give me the
instructions at beginnings, of course there was a lot of useless work
that I had to make again, with a big lost of my time.
O course I can make questions, but if anyone gave me the guidelines
when entered, perhaps I could not know what to ask.

You were told you were free to create. No boundaries. Wallpapers are
easy to jump into and a great way for us to see what you can do.

Finally I could not find the svg logo, it is supposed it was in wiki,
but I could not find it, and asked many times where is... no
responses. Finally I rebuild it myself.

You were told many times they were art section of the wiki. All 3
versions are here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio/Artwork

Sorry if my English is not good.

Only my willingness to cooperate brought me up to here but I worked
 alone, not in a team.
 I'm tired, I will leave.

 I.C.C.

I'm sorry you feel this way. We liked what you were doing. I think this
more came down to the fact that you wanted to work on Intrepid and you
couldn't. *ANYONE* wanting to work on art must realize that their work
may not be used. If people can't accept that I'm sorry.

I'm sorry to sound curt but I must be straightforward. Working on a team
take a little more than hanging around for a week on IRC.

We're looking for someone with Drupal experience to re-theme the current

Correct. The basic structure that's there is the pattern to follow, as
far as pages and info but layout and look are up for grabs. It should
still retain use of black/blue. I'm not looking to tie it into the
art/theme of the distro. Mostly because I haven't worked it out yet. :P

Re: Ubuntu Studio is looking for help.

2008-08-05 Thread Hector Centeno
Hello,

I've tried to join packaging efforts before (Ubuntu and Fedora) but
the whole administrative process seemed too slow and painful to me. I
often find some good audio applications missing in the Ubuntu repos or
some of them are not updated. If I create a proper package of an
updated version (like some LADSPA plugins, Csound, PureData, etc)
would it take short time to be included in the public repos or would
it have to wait for the next Ubuntu release? Is it possible to help by
packaging something that has a maintainer assigned already but its not
being updated?

Cheers,

Hector

More help is always welcomed as we have the high priority covered but
can do more stuff if we have more people. Plus a few members are
taking a massive load of work and it would be good to try making it
 lighter.

Documentation has almost no help, so I would really appreciate if you join.

It can take anywhere from a few hours to a couple months for
updates and newly packaged applications to reach the public
repositories, depending on the importance of the update, the current
point in the development cycle, and the availability and interest of
reviewers. All such updates are committed to the then current
development release (Intrepid Ibex right now). Once accepted, it may
be possible to update a previous release, either as a stable update
(for critical fixes) or a backport (for newer upstream versions that
do not break existing installations). Either process to update a
previous release typically takes a minimum of two weeks, but is not
often pursued for the majority of updates as most developers are
focused on the quality of the upcoming release.
